Major upgrade to on board motherboard sound. Powered by the PC's USB C, so no need for an external power supply when connected to the PC. I only use my desktop Creative powered speakers, but when fed through quality speakers like the Ruark desktop speakers, the difference is noticeable. Also very effective upgrade to sound as a quality DAC when powered by the power supply and fed from my mobile to my Denon mini system (much improved on bluetooth). A solid buy and great value!

What can I say? Just wow. what a box of tricks for the money. I've just refurbed my office and tri amped/aktiv'd my "proper" system so had a spare Linn LK100 and a pair of ELAC bookshelves. I just wanted something to make Spotify not sound like mud and gravel and wasn't expecting much but it's absolutely brilliant. The detail is absolutely there and with a half decent amp and speakers there's actually a sound stage. I'm going to borrow m mates Tidal subscription tomorrow and give it a proper workout - see what it's like with some proper file formats.

The DAC arrived yesterday and not stopped listening to music from my PC, this is a very good DAC.

Very good, for it's price the sound quality is unmatched. Also works flawlessly in Linux which was not the case on my FIIO that this replaced.

I had the original Zen Dac it was good but never used the bass boost as i found it too strong, this new version sounds better overall and the bass boost is just right for me
