I could smell these before I even opened the box! They are very strong in smell and I hope that means they will work well to repel the bugs this summer. I like that they have the little metal bucket containers as they look a little decorative as well as being functional. I think one set like this would last me the whole summer, so they're good value.

You can smell these before you even open the box. There's a very strong refreshing lemony smell. The candles come in robust, small metal holders, perfect for outdoors and keeping the mosquitoes away. These should give around 120 hours of burn time.The wax is contained in very attractive little metal buckets with decent wicks. So far they seem to burn well.They have the usual citronella smell which is pleasant and fairly strong. I've not used these around insects yet but I'd imagine they'll work moderately well as these type of candles usually do.At the time of review they were under £12 for 8 which just about seems OK to me but I wouldn't want to spend much more.

We’re only just into warm enough weather to sit outside so I’ve tried a couple of these little dinky candles over the past few evenings. The citronella is quite strong (that initial lemony scent packs a punch, these are very definitely only for external use) but insects and mozzies hate it, so they stay away. I do like the little buckets they come in, which are not only cute but look good on the patio table. It’s such an easy solution to keep insects away, and a pack of 8 candles is good value, these will last us all summer as I only need to light one or maybe 2 at a time, and each burns for several hours.

This pack of 8 candles is a perfect gift for someone who love lighting up candles in their living room or when they are bathing. Reasonably priced and smell so good.
