I have also used it to steam wieners for hot dogs with excellent results. When the meat was done I then quickly steamed the buns as well. Anyway, Now I use it for all my steaming.The reason I ultimately purchased this item was because after having steamed cod at a five-star restaurant recently that was so good, I had to have a good steamer at home.I had to leave a review because I am extremely pleased with the craftsmanship of this steamer and am looking forward to many years of usage. It's worth the price and am glad I didn't purchase a lesser model.To make the steaming process flawless, be sure to purchase a good supply of the paper inserts & the 10 inch metal ring to put over the pan. The steamer emits a very nice and subtle aroma once you take it out of the box. I have been cooking Chinese food for 28 years and this is the first time I use a bamboo steamer. I always thought only restaurants use bamboo steamer. I wish I could have own one earlier. Anyway, the steamer is very easy to use. I washed the steamer in water, no dish soap please. Then I placed baking paper on the bottom of the steamer. Then I placed the dumpling on top of the baking paper. I bought a 3 tier 10 inch steamer and 25 cm baking paper. The dumplings cooked fairly quick in the steamer. The result was fantastic. You can see from my pictures. I am going to use this to steam other stuff in the future.The steamer is very well made by an old and established maker. HuangYiFu is a reputable brand in China and produces quality product. This is the reason why I purchased this item. The customer service is excellent - very prompt in responding to your inquiry and resolving the issue.
