Beware of wattage before purchasing, This is more like a 500 Watt transformer NOT 1000 Watt transformer like advertised???
Item came in damaged box. Thanks to Amazon double wrapping the boxes or unit would have been damaged for sure. Unit seems to work ok for now but only time will tell.I am using this to step up from 120 vac to 220 vac for a contemporary kitchen exhaust rangehood that was purchased in Europe. The rangehood consumes (according to manufacturer) 270 wattts of power. This transformer is 1000 watt so I should be good to go. Note: I just checked the voltages to see where they are at. My household voltage is at 123.7 Volts AC and the transformers pumping out 247 Volts AC ? On their wrinky dink owners (from China of course) manual they claim to USE at least 50% higher wattage transformer than your equipment required wattage. So this in my opinion is NOT a true 1000 watt transformer??? More like 500 watts tops? The chinese ALWAYS try to make their product sound better than what it is. Also this product does NOT have UL or ULC or CSA certification symbols on it??? This is very concerning? Good thing my exhaust fan doesnt exceed 300 watts total? Also, the instructions also tell you to "turn it off" when not in use so this is NOT a continuous use transformer? I will keep everyone posted of my findings and performance of this unit over time. Remember the formula AMP X VOLT = WATTS for example if an electrical razor draws for example 1Amp X 120 volts= 120 watts of power is needed UPDATE: Item still works great.Installed rangehood fan from Europe (220 Vac) fan uses close to 300 watts of power so picking a 1000 watt unit should NOT put any strain or stress on it. Transformer puts out 247 volts which is ok for European voltages. Still going strong Ill keep you updated! UPDATE: May 18/2016 transformer still going strong , exhaust fan still runs perfectly Great transformer upto now Recommend

Reliable and Consistent Performance!
Iโve been using this converter for over a year now, and it has been nothing short of exceptional. As someone who values consistent electrical output, this converter has exceeded my expectations. From day one, it has provided a stable and reliable performance without any surges, ensuring that my expensive equipment runs smoothly. Whether Iโm using it for my home office equipment or other electronics, it has never let me down. The build quality is solid, and it feels like a durable piece of equipment that will last for years to come. One of the standout features for me is its ability to handle both step-up and step-down conversions seamlessly. This versatility has been incredibly useful, especially when dealing with different voltage requirements for various devices. Overall, I couldnโt be happier with this purchase.

Heavy duty performer
I am overseas and was getting tired of not having enough power or outlets to power up my items. I was looking through various transformers and chose this one based on it's wattage and it's Amazon prime availability. There were a few cosmetic issues after first inspection. Those do no affect the performance one bit. I was able to plug every item i had in my room into this and still had more available outlets and power. I have had it about a week and keep it on constantly and have had no issues with over heating or tripping circuits. I have had a television, DVD player, game system, shop vac vacuum cleaner, 2 laptops, a cordless phone, all plugged in and operating at once with no issues. Great product. Received it very quickly. If you need a lot of power for a good price get this.

Great for the price
I bought four of these LT-1500's for high power 240v equipment at work, and they work great! I went for this model because it includes the useful extra plug which will take and ground french and german plugs. I was a little skeptical of quality due to reviews of other models, so I opened each one to make sure. There is a nice potted toroidal transformer inside, all connections are nicely soldered and heat shrunk, and no electronics to fail. Hot glue is only used to hold things from moving, as a backup to the main mounting hardware. Make sure you select 120V on the switch on the back! There are two pass-through 120V plugs on top and two 240V plugs on the bottom. (If you flip the switch, the bottom plugs pass through and the top has half voltage) The free euro adapter for its power cable was only included with 2 out of the 4, but we don't need it anyway. The power light burned out on one, but function is not affected. These are very nice, especially for the price, just be sure to get one rated much higher wattage than you need.

Buyer Beware! May be a good product, but not for household use in most places
The 3000W is not good for household use and the 5000W most definitely not. This appears to be a well-designed and well-intentioned product. It's quite light compared to similar competitors. However, the toroidal design means low losses and a VERY HIGH INRUSH CURRENT. So pay attention as here's the real issue and catch to this transformer & why it's NOT for household use...despite what you may read in couple positive reviews, do not buy/use this in household unless you have 35A main (house) circuit breaker and probably 25A circuit breakers inside house, as the initial surge spike is up to 32A, per the testing done by actual electricians because it kept blowing out power in the house. As a number of other reviewers posted, it will blow out power in entire house, and really blow out house power in a lot of houses, esp. the newer ones (built w/in past couple to 3 decades)...the 25A tri-phase main breaker outside the house (standard in majority of Europe now) that feeds into house grid will trip and you'll lose power to whole house until you reset...lots of fun I tell you. This transformer is really for industrial use. 15/16A breakers will trip inside the house for sure, and even if 40A sectional breaker on house circuit housing doesn't trip, the outer main feed 25A breaker will trip as this transformer load trips its treshold for any single phase. An industrial 16/20A circuit breaker inside the house won't trip, but then it's unsafe to use such in households, yet the main breaker outside will. If you don't have something like 32A main outside breaker and 25A breakers inside house, this isn't for you, and even then this might not be enough unless you also buy & install a current limiter, which is a resistor that is short-circuited after the current rises and which should be provided by the seller as a standard option because such an item is usually supplied with this type of transformer. However, the seller doesn't provide such an option, not does the seller even mention the high surges that this transformer experiences. Realistically, this is essentially false advertising as this item shouldn't even be sold without such cautions. If you don't want major issues, stick with non-toroidal transformers, such as Rockstone, which we had during previous time in Europe for 3 years in Belgium without any issues, even with some of the flux in Belgian grid.

Using for a 3 phase VFD, 1hp induction motor on a CNC mill
I installed a 3 phase induction motor w/VFD on my mill a while ago. At first I ran it with 120v, but ran slow. Then I ran a 240 line to the mill and things were peachy. The VFD I have will take anything from single phase 120, split or single phase 240, or 3 phase input and output 3 phase. The output voltage is determined by what it fed into it. I moved, and always intended on running 240 to the mill again, but I really didnt want to break walls open, so I considered a spindle motor upgrade that could take 120. After looking at the price of the project, decided on just getting a step up transformer to test. First test popped the GFCI (didnt know it was GFCI at the time). Not surprising, as thats a known issue with VFDs. Tested it on another outlet and the spindle motor runs like a champ.

Quiet and convenient
I moved from the states to S. Korea. I love this transformer. Makes no noise at all. Thinking about getting another. The only issue so far is when i unboxed it, the was a crack in the plastic of the port hole in the front. The functionality is the and is really heavy so I didn't bother to send it back. The power switch is obviously in the back, but an improvement would be to move it to the front if you plan on turning it off when you are not using it. For 3000w, this is solid. Much better than previous models I've used.
