Surprisingly Worked like it should, plumbed to a 1.5 h.p. pump with a T inline with suction for filter. I'm not sure how well it would work on low h.p. pumps .

Makes everything so much easier. Helps gets rid of the small floating debris.

Didn’t think this gadget would work at all tbh, but my dad wanted to give it a shot since our pool doesn’t have a skim basket. It works wonders, cleans up our in-ground pool. We have a little concrete lip around our pool which made it easy to attach to.

This is strikingly similar to the Intex 28000 skimmer, but (currently 03/26/24) $10 more expensive. Not a great start. It does work, but how well will depend on many variables, mostly the pump suction. I installed this on an Intex 5x8 pool with an Intex C1000 (1,000GPH) filter pump with both inlets plumbed. Without capping off the center suction/ draw point, there was not enough suction for this to work. Capping off the center inlet there is barely enough suction, but it does work. It does not work as well as I had hoped and very similar to the Intex skimmer I bought (and returned) 2 years ago since I didn't think it was working "properly"... that is nothing like the skimmer on the big pool. The picto-instructions seem to insinuate that the top collar will suck down below the water surface when the pump is on, but it doesn't. It bobs on top of the surface, which I guess that's what it's supposed to do to corral the skimmed debris into the container area. The bobbing plastic top collar sits above the basket, so there is an annoying loss of captured fine debris that has been sequestered to the area, but still floating on top when you put your hand in to grab the filter basket. I was hoping that this would suck it all to the filter without using the net, but no. There is a smaller area to hand scoop, but still have to use the net for fine surface debris (hair, bugs/ moths). This is a "porch pool" that is in a screened/ covered area, so leaves are generally not a problems, but I brought 2 in from outside and this skimmer did contain them in the 2 hour cycle that the pump ran with the skimmer connected. So it does work, but how well is dependent on the flow rate/ suction of your pump. I would have to say that 1000 GPH or less, this really isn't worth it for what it can do or the space that it takes up in a smaller pool. Installation was simple/ basic, instructions are smallish pictures, hose slides on to bottom of the "skimmer container" and on to screw on adapter plate for the stock fitting on Intex/ Bestway pools. All components are plastic. **Hint: you do not need the blue male fitting on Intex pools- I wish I figured that out before detaching the outside hose and drenching myself, LOL. That is just a rigid plastic version of the "outie" that is already on the outside of the pool to connect the pump hose. For me/ my situation/ 1,000GPH pump this is 3.5 stars, it works "slightly", not sure that the effect and loss of space is worth it to me, and why is this proportionately so much more than the Intex version?

I installed the skimmer, of course I had to shut off one valve to get it to draw in water. Cleaned everything off the surface of my 4x18 foot pool in about 30 minutes. I would absolutely recommend this skimmer.

Really great product. So glad I took the chance! Live on a dirt road so it's a challenge keeping this 16' x 42" Coleman pool clean! Very satisfied with the results this far.
