Best TENS and EMS Device I've Ever Used
It works much better than I expected. I use both the TENS and EMS functions and I personally find myself on EMS more often so I can increase the pulse width to its maximum of 450us while also controlling on/off times and hertz. The available options to customize your own 3 TENS or 3 EMS programs is more than enough for even the pros. All the features you need for a fully custom experience are available. Pulse widths, frequency, strength, on/off working time, burst/continuous mode. If you want custom, this unit delivers. And it's very easy to use. It has many pre-programmed functions and therapies, and the central body figure on the screen makes it easy to see where on the front or back of my body to place the electrodes for, e.g. EMS program 12 - you will not be disappointed in the programs it offers, which target just about every muscle group and relief type. The value for the money is ideal. While it is a more expensive model than the cheaper units out there, the build quality is superb and is what you would expect for the price. The fit and finish are fantastic. The included electrodes are great. This unit uses 3.5mm snap-on electrodes. If you're looking to buy more, Axion brand 3.5mm snap-on 2in x 2in electrodes have worked the absolute best out of dozens of brands I've tried over the years with other units. IMPORTANT: replacement electrodes must have 3.5mm snap-on connections. Axion is a good brand for this. They need to make this information easier to find. The "Doctor's Feature" is poorly named but does do what they claim of it. However, you cannot escape the menu without holding the right side down arrow to disengage it before turning back off and on. I dislike the doctor recall feature because of that. Overall it's very easy to use, very well built with great fit and finish, has every option under the sun you could want, and at maximum intensity is very powerful. The manual says this unit sends up to 200mA per pulse. That's one of the highest on the market. It does so at 100 volts. Yes this is safe, and you can find this info on the very last page of the English section of the manual. Also ~ the manual is easy to understand and thoroughly goes through everything step by step. It's worth reading before your first time using the device. Pro tip: clean the area you plan to place the electrodes very well with rubbing alcohol on a cotton-round. Get the dead skin and oil off so it sticks better and conducts better Second pro tip: electrodes are washable. Use as hot water as you can stand. Rub gently for 15 to 30 seconds under hot water. Set aside and let dry for 1 hour. The hot water and brief yet gentle rubbing preserves the electrodes for the longest time. Cold water fails to clean the crap off well enough, which leads to extended cleaning times and loss of glycerin. I would and have recommended this unit to my friends and family. Last info for those who read this far: use rechargeable AAA batteries if you plan to use the device often. It does eat batteries and uses 3 AAA - also, high capacity NiMH AAA will outlast alkaline by hours. Save yourself some money if you use this often.

Great product.
What a fantastic product. Works great and also looks great. Easy to use. One thing that's a bit difficult to figure out is sticking the electrodes. The clear film on top of sticky squares comes off easily -- you take it off and attach the sticky part to the electrodes. Then you have to detach the blue film to expose the sticky gel. That is a bit challenging to do. If you peel it, the sticky gel wants to come off with the blue film. So you have to kind of hold the sticky layer in place with your finger nail and peel off the blue film. Keep the blue film, so you can cover the sticky layer on the electrode after each use. A fantastic machine, instant relief from back pain (TENS mode). Fantastic recovery for tense hip flexor muscles after a hockey game (EMS mode).

Powerfull devise
The Beurer EM59 Digital 3‑in‑1 is surprisingly powerful for such a small device. I tore my ACL over 20 years ago, and after tough workout days my knee can get really sore. Using this after training has made a big difference—it relaxes the muscles around my knee and gives noticeable relief. It’s compact enough to take anywhere, yet strong enough that you actually feel it working, which makes it worth the price. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with extra pads, and the included ones aren’t very sticky, so you’ll need to buy replacements separately. Overall, it’s a great little device that deliver

Received an Obviously Used Unit Despite Paying for a New One
Very disappointed with this purchase. I ordered the Beurer EM59 Digital 3-in-1 TENS Unit expecting a brand-new, functional product, but what arrived had clearly been used before. The sticky pads were no longer sticky at all. The adhesive had come off the pads, and there was visible residue/gunk on some of the connection nodes. Because of this, the pads cannot properly attach to the body, making the unit essentially unusable. What makes this even more frustrating is that there was a cheaper “used/as new” option available when I purchased the item, and I deliberately chose not to buy that because I wanted a new unit. Instead, I was sent what is obviously a previously returned product anyway, which is honestly unacceptable. I had just returned home from travelling and was looking forward to using this for pain relief, so opening the package only to discover I now had another problem to deal with was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, I then realised the EM59 appears to only work with Beurer-branded replacement pads, meaning I cannot use the many affordable third-party replacement pads widely available on the market. Considering the official replacement pads are rated for only around 20 uses each, this becomes an expensive long-term commitment. For the price of the unit, this limitation makes it feel like a poor investment overall. I genuinely regret this purchase and, based on this experience, I am quite certain I will be buying a different brand in the near future. For a medical/wellness device, hygiene, usability, and quality control are especially important. Receiving what appears to be a used and improperly checked item in this condition is unacceptable and deeply disappointing.

Terrific pocket-sized TENS Unit!
My physical therapist gave me a TENS unit to use for neck, back and shoulder pain which was often debilitating and required weekly therapy and medications. After using the TENS unit for a week, I was amazed at the difference of intensity of the pain, as well as reducing my need for pain/muscle relaxing medications. My PT and I searched together and agreed that the Beurer electrostimulation unit seemed quite comparable to what I had been using. I was very pleased when I received it, read how to use it and placed the electrodes appropriately. Initially I believed it would be easier to get it to the right settings and change the programs etc, but the instructions didn’t seem to go into enough detail, in my opinion, for me to be able to fully understand the true capabilities of this device. After a while, having re-read the manual and trying many different options settings, I was able to find a very effect program and my pain all but disappeared! Now that I’ve used it 5-6 times, with excellent results, I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone living with chronic spinal/back, neck and or other nerve pain. This pocket-sized unit comes with a clip that attaches too the unit so it can be clipped on a belt, waist of your trousers or pocket etc. Unfortunately, the only significant downside, once you get past the initial confusion on how to get it up and running, is the electrode pads. The pads that I had on the unit before this could be used up to a month before having to replace them. Also, with my old electrodes, if it any point they lost their stickiness and sustainability, you could rub a little water on them and that would make them sticky again. With the Beurer unit, the electrode pads stopped sticking after the second use and rewetting them is not effective. This will require having to replace the electrode pads much more frequently, which could be costly, depending on how often you use it. Otherwise, I’m very happy with my purchase! Oh, and it even came with its own batteries!

Similar to the one used in physical therapy
I bought this for pain caused by a herniated disc in my back, and it gave me the same type of relief I experienced during my physical therapy sessions. The machine used at PT was larger, but the sensation and effectiveness were very similar. It’s easy to use and has been a great tool for managing my back pain at home.

Awesomely Powerful.
Like many have already stated, this thing is powerful, and effective, and functions very very well with many choices/settings available… alleviates pain and with the EMS build back 90% more muscle fiber than if you were to work out without it…yet another great product from Germany.

Weak battery life, heat is good, but there are better options
TLDR: Weak battery life, need to recharge after every session. The heat is what makes this worth the extra price. But for the money, the best TENS machine on Amazon that I have found is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C4ZXMR3 (I have bought five across the US/UK - they have the same brands on both). In the US I have bought three models of TENS/EMS machines. If you have bad knees/joints/back, this is great as it has heat and it is worth it for that...I have bad knees and they love this. That being said, the battery life lets this down. I use it on my calves and then my knees for a half an hour each, and it needs recharging the next day. The model I like more lasts over 10 days on the same routine of an hour use every night. Also finding gel replacement squares for this is almost impossible. I can't find them on Amazon or Ebay. They lose their stickiness very quickly even with proper cleaning of the area they will be used on. *Pro tip to fix this, dot some water on the pads, and blow on them to dry, or let them sit out, this will help make them last. That's another pro of the other model...when the pads wear out and you can't do the water trick, you can throw them out and replace them easily. Another issue is that the pads on this are just small squares. The other model, I bought these very long rectangles and that size makes a huge difference for EMS. It does have a nice clip that works when I want to put these on my knees and hit the treadmill. It's secure to my leggings and doesn't fall off. All in all this is a great option IF you need the heat. Otherwise, get the model that is under 50 bucks, it's stronger, has a super long battery life, there are a lot of cheaper/larger replacement pads...and this Beurer doesn't have any of that.

Not rechargeable
It's pity that it's not rechargeable but I can buy 3 rechargeable AAA batteries. It's brilliant! So many programs and easy to use. There's 4 small pads but they do the thing. Don't need physiotherapist or massages anymore 😁

Great product.
Works great. I would recommend. Tens only offer pain free time for half a day though. Good for people with nerve pain. EMS works fine. Massage was slightly painful in higher intensities. You need to keep ice over the area after EMS or massage to recover and remove skin soreness for the next usage.

Solid TENS unit
Pros: Offers adjustable intensity with multiple modes for pain relief, muscle stimulation, and massage. Easy to use with a clear display and dual channels for targeting different areas at once. Good battery life and affordable compared to similar units. Cons: Pads lose stickiness over time and need replacing. Some settings may feel too mild or too strong, requiring adjustment. Verdict: A solid TENS unit for pain relief and muscle relaxation. Good value, but be ready to replace electrode pads periodically.
