Your decorator will hate this stuff, but it is what you need for stairs if anyone impaired lives at your house. My husband is half-blind, has dementia, and is becoming unsteady on his feet. The VA, who have truly been very helpful to us, "suggested" that l needed to put something like this in place. The product is essentially peel-and-stick sandpaper, in safety colors if you choose. You can tear it if you get overly aggressive. It goes on easily and adheres well. One roll was enough for about 14 steps. (You don't need to go all the way across each step.) We have no-nap carpet on those stairs, but it went on well. As to application, l will suggest that you do not want to put the majority of the tape on the top, the part where your foot lands. It becomes visually overwhelming. Maybe a third on top and two thirds on the vertical face. Or, if you feel like martyrdom, cut it in half lengthwise and get twice the coverage. Would probably destroy the scissors, though. It's good, and a safety measure. I bought two rolls and intend to do the outdoor stairs next.

Excellent product for a public stepping area. Only down fall is that it is a bit hard to clean. Visibility is great! Appearance very professional and clean.

The tape easy to apply to the metal deck of my riding lawn mower where I step when getting on and off. The non skid grit is helpful. The application is only a week old, a review in a few months woukld be more meaningful.

Heavy duty, super grippy. Easily seen/visible, I don’t think it glows in the dark or anything but it’s nice and wide and makes your step visible. Overall satisfied with the value, it’s a high quality product, super thick and you could sand the bark off a tree with this thing. I’m using it in the attic on the edges of some platforms I’m building to provide some safety traction. I don’t know if it’s necessary but I’m also adding a few staples to hold it down just in case the 120deg heat makes the tape want to come up… but it’s super sticky! Would buy again!
