Monitor works great and is exactly what I was looking for in a high quality monitor! Easy to setup and the perfect refresh rate for high FPS games. I’m very happy with this OLED monitor. The picture quality is excellent, with great colors, deep blacks, and a sharp image. It’s also amazing for gaming thanks to the 365Hz smooth and responsive. I use my computer almost all day, and the monitor is on for many hours, but I haven’t had any issues with it turning off or malfunctioning Just a little bit expensive :)

Loving the monitor so far. It’s got great color accuracy, the blacks are actually black and super deep, and the 360hz refresh rate feels great. However, I upgraded from a 240hz IPS monitor so I don’t see that much of a difference between 240hz and 360hz but it still feels very nice. Build quality is fantastic but the stand is made of plastic which I would prefer if it was metal. It would feel much more premium this way since the monitor is already expensive. Getting the stand on was easy. Only spent like 5 minutes getting it installed. The size of the monitor is good. Only half an inch smaller than my previous IPS monitor. The display is so thin! This is my first OLED monitor and I was not expecting the display to be as thin as it was. The screen is gorgeous. It makes colorful games really pop. I’ve only had the monitor for two and a half days now and I’ve mostly been testing it with HDR videos and setting it up. I’ve played a few games already and some still look the same but the blacks are fully black this time while other games look incredible now. Also, the glossiness of the screen is amazing. This is my first glossy monitor and I love it. My only negative is the OLED protection stuff it has. The screen will shut itself off and stay off and the only way I was able to turn it back on was to turn the monitor off completely and turn it back on. Thankfully, it does warn you before it does it so you have the option to skip it if you want. Another issue I ran into today actually was that the monitor refused to wake up from sleep. I have my monitors on a sleep timer so after 5 minutes, both displays will turn off and can be woken up by moving my mouse. Today, I came back to my desk to wake my monitors up to resume working on my PC and the MSI monitor didn’t wake up. My secondary Asus monitor tried to but also failed. I had to manually use the reset button on my PC to get the monitor back on. Turns out I’m not the only one with this issue. I asked on reddit and a few others left comments saying they have the same problem. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor. It’s a nice step up from my IPS monitor. The colors look a lot better and the higher refresh rate is a nice touch. I stayed at 1440p because while my 4090 is capable of 4k, I rather not lose fps for a slight improvement in resolution/image quality. It’s not worth it. 1440p is the perfect balance between performance and image quality in my opinion. This is also my first MSI monitor and so far so good.

This monitor is a CERTIFIED FREAK. Now that my eyes have experienced QD-OLED I have been totally ruined. Nothing else looks good anymore. I have a 2023 16" MBP and a 2024 15" MBA and even though the MBP has a better display than the MBA, it looks like trash (exaggerating) compared to the MSI monitor. Seriously though, the MBP display is very quality, but it's just not quite as good as the QD-OLED, which I guess is to be expected. I was in the market for a monitor that would connect to my laptops with a single cable (i.e., USB-C PD) and this thing delivers. I was doing a good amount of searching and AFAIK very few monitors can deliver 90 W through the USB-C port. That alone was a huge benefit for me, since the MBP comes with a 140 W adapter and the monitors that have 15 W PD just wouldn't cut it. That kind of PD wouldn't even cut it for the MBA which comes with a 35 W adapter. I love love love this monitor. I upgraded from a 27" Dell (model S2721DGF) which was great in every way except it didn't have USB-C PD. Connecting to my laptops wasn't a huge problem since the MBP has a HDMI port but the MBA only has USB-C ports and so I was having to use an adapter. And of course I would have to have a power cable plugged in to the laptops if I wanted to use them in clamshell mode. Not anymore!! Now my desk setup is that much more streamlined. Oh and by the way can we talk about the ungodly refresh rate and response time/input lag? These things aren't at all important if you're not gaming, but if you are... oh boy. I game on Xbox Series X and PS5 which can display 4K or 2K at 120 Hz, so the beastly 360 Hz of the MSI monitor isn't even being taken full advantage of. The Dell monitor can display 2K at 120 Hz as well (it's actually spec'd to deliver 144 Hz over HDMI for gaming on a PC), and its response time was 1-4 milliseconds. The MSI monitor's response time, however, is 0.03 milliseconds. Response time is HUGEly important if you're playing FPS games online. I have a 4K 120 Hz OLED Sony Bravia 8 but unfortunately its response time is quite poor for FPS games. Part of the difference I was experiencing with the Bravia 8 compared to the Dell S2721DGF may have been due to screen size (55" vs 27"), but I think it had more to do with response time / input lag. I preferred the 1440p at 120 Hz on the Dell monitor over the 4K at 120 Hz of the Bravia 8 TV. Cons: My only complaint is that MacOS interprets the monitor as an external drive and whenever I unplug or turn off the MacBooks the "Disk Not Ejected Properly" notification appears. It doesn't matter if you "eject" the monitor "NO NAME" from the Finder window or Desktop icon before unplugging or turning off because since it's still connected it just reappears as an external drive. There have been 3 or 4 firmware updates for the monitor since it came out last year, but in order to install them you need a Windows PC with a DisplayPort 1.4a port and a USB-A port. You connect the monitor to the PC with the included USB-A to USB-B and DisplayPort cables, install the Gaming Intelligence app, and proceed. I haven't done this yet because like I said I use Apple MacBooks, but I'm going to borrow a PC from someone and update the firmware. I'll report back here on whether or not that solves the issue of MacOS detecting the monitor as an external drive. The other problem is that after sleeping or shutting down or disconnecting the laptops from the USB-C cable the monitor will turn itself on and off again several times. I have not figured out how long or how many times or when this happens. It will go from being in standby mode with a black screen and the power LED indicator colored orange (which is what it should be when nothing is delivering an image, to "on" with a black screen and the power LED indicator colored white (which it should not be doing). I'm hopeful that after updating the firmware both this and the external drive problem will be remedied. In summary: the MSI MPG 271 QRX QD-OLED monitor is basically flawless. I don't think it has any competition at the moment. I'm looking forward to even further enhancing my desktop setup with the MSI MPG MT201R monitor arm. I know there are a lot of different monitor arms out there, but after such a positive experience with this monitor (my first ever MSI product) I feel no need to try anything else. UPDATE August 2025: The macs no longer interpret the monitor as an external drive and so the problem of "disk not ejected properly" when unplugging the USB-C is no more. I did end up getting my hands on a PC to do some firmware updates a few months ago, but I don't have regular access and so I'm not able to keep up with the updates or take full advantage of the monitor without a PC. That's another one of the downsides, albeit more-or-less insignificant. For example you can control the LED on the back color and lighting pattern with the gaming intelligence app, but on mac you can't. Still, this monitor is a 10/10 and I'm looking into getting a second one (there's a newer model with 4K).

Setup was easy, just had to connect the mount to the monitor and the monitor already came with the necessary cables to plug into my desktop. What really stands out is the performance. With a 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time, the gameplay feels super smooth. HDR is solid too. Dark scenes actually stay dark without losing detail, thanks to DisplayHDR True Black 400. Plus, MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 helps prevent burn-in, which is reassuring for long gaming sessions. Overall, if you want an OLED gaming monitor with great visuals and performance, this one’s definitely worth it.

Edit: Do not buy if you play any type of competitive games, or games where interruptions can be disastrous. They have a built in “OLED care” that will randomly pop up in the middle of your screen until you turn off your monitor for 10-15 minutes. You can not turn this off in any way shape or form. Look up MSI OLED care if you don’t believe me. It’s there due to their warranty that will cover burn in. But that’s another thing, they don’t pay for shipping. So in the event you have a burn in or anything, to get it covered you will have to pay $100 to ship the thing to them. Original review- I had high hopes for the MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, but my experience has been nothing short of awful. Here's why: Blurry Text and Poor Display Quality The first thing I noticed after setting up the monitor was the horribly blurry text. Trying to work on documents or browse the web is a nightmare. The text clarity is so bad it’s almost like looking through frosted glass. Even after hours of tweaking settings, the issue persists. Off Colors and Ugly Visuals The colors are wildly inaccurate and washed out, despite this being an OLED monitor. I expected vibrant colors and deep blacks, but instead, everything looks oversaturated or muted in weird ways. Watching movies or gaming feels like I’m staring at a poorly calibrated budget TV. The build quality is unimpressive for a monitor at this price point. The stand feels flimsy, and the tilt/height adjustments are awkward to use. The HDR400 performance is mediocre at best—there’s no noticeable improvement in brightness or detail. Verdict This monitor is overhyped and overpriced. Between the blurry text, ugly colors, and subpar gaming performance, it’s a huge disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for a high-quality display. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I'm content with this MSI monitor. The picture quality is impressive. The blacks are super deep, which makes a huge difference in how games and movies look. My only small gripes are that the HDR settings took a bit of fiddling to get just right and I'm a little concerned about burn-in, since it's an OLED, though MSI does have software and a 3-year warranty that helps. The monitor itself feels well-built, and the stand is solid; overall it wasn't too difficult to setup physically. I like the form factor as well, its thin, quiet and looks sleek. Overall im satisfied with my purchase.

This MPG 271QRX is incredible for gaming! The out-of-the-box color accuracy is excellent, you can make it even better with some calibrations. Of course, the response time and the contrast are superb. When I wanted to buy an OLED, I was concerned about the text clarity, but it seems fine to me here. Also this MSI has nice oled care features. The firmware update was also done without any hassle, which is another plus. It also has HDMI 2.1, which is better than some of its peers in the same category. HDR was also excellent, way better than in other OLEDs that I have seen. Overall, I am pleased with it, and I see no issue. Great Buy.

The monitor arrived with really bad colors. The colors were awful and dull. I tried to optimize it for hours, but in the end, I ended up refunding it. it's really disappointing as I was really looking forward for it since it was my first oled monitor.
