Yes but but it only goes as far as the cord about 50 ft. Its easily tossed but I just let it float and the water pulls it out. Great screen well worth thr price.

does it work in water that in not clear?

Yes, sonar works in any water conditions. The lake I usually fish is sometimes muddy and this unit works well all the time. I use this in a kayak and have been very happy with the purchase.

any body use this for ice fishing or jigging?

You can use it for ice fishing. Just dig a hole and put the transducer in the water under the ice.

The sonar sensor is waterproof but the hand held is not waterproof.
