This is a great little nativity scene for fans of Snoopy. Well made. Might keep it out on display all year, not just at Christmas.

Christmas has never been complete without a helping of Charlie Brown. Now while it's true that A Charlie Brown Christmas is a social commentary on the over-commercialisation of the festive period and serves to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of Christ) and you could therefore argue that selling not inexpensive Peanuts figurines to the Christmas market could present something of a moral quandary.It is however a difficult if not impossible accusation to direct at this beautifully designed and crafted Christmas pageant figurine from Jim Shore featuring Charlie, Lucy, Snoopy, Sally and baby Jesus Woodstock. It boasts a convincing classic carved wood effect and is painted immaculately, forgoing all the crassness of modern decorations. It may heighten your enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of Christmas in more ways than one. But, no, it can't play Jingle Bells.

I've been a fan of the Peanuts newspaper strips by Charles M. Schulz for as long as I can remember. My parents used to have a newspaper delivered daily and every morning I would read the Peanuts strip whilst munching my breakfast. I even based my signature on Schulz's, which used to appear in every strip!When I saw this I knew I had to have it. Christmas is a fairly big deal in our house but we don't go OTT with decoration. That said I thought this would make a beautiful centerpiece and would feature characters I already knew and loved, so what could go wrong?As it turns out, nothing! The piece is larger than I was expecting and has a comforting weight to it. It comes very well packaged in a lovely box encased in styrofoam, with extra pieces of either styrofoam or foam securing the figures and protecting delicate parts like their necks. Once out of the box, it looks fantastic. The characters have an almost chiseled look to them, as if they were carved from pieces of wood. If I had one criticism to make it would be that the colours seem a little muted to me. They certainly match the image on the Amazon product page, but I just would have thought they would be brighter. I don't know, perhaps they thought that brighter colours would be distracting?All in all a fantastic purchase and a beautiful item that will be carefully packed away in early January to return to prominence every December for (hopefully) a long time to come!

This is a lovely, fun ornament for a Christmas decoration. It is very good quality and heavier than I was expecting. The attention to detail is fab, the back of the ornament is not just blank so it doesn't have to go up against a wall which is great. Loved the decorated cardboard box it came in. Great for a gift. The metal walking stick and halo are well done. The way it is painted and the textures on it really brings it to life. Lovely.

If like me you have grown up watching Charles M. Schulz series "Charlie Brown" on TV and also know that his dad is a hairdresser this range of ornaments designed by Jim Shore are for you.They are not kids toys and are just excellent display ornaments.Well packed in a box which could be wrapped as a present with polystyrene inside and foam wrapped around the characters necks for ultimate transit protection.The ornament arrived in perfect condition (Hand made in China).This one features Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy and Woodstock..The dimensions are 7.5" h x 3" w x 5.5" l and is made out of something called stone resin.The craftsmanship is very good and they will look very nice in my display case along with my Star Trek collection.Now to look for the Great Pumpkin :)

Another good idea for a gift for a Peanuts fan. This time a nativity play scene for Christmas. As with the other figures sculpted by Jim Shore, it not only captures the characters but also the 'cartoon' quality of them. It is not a super glossy super smooth rendition, nor is it a toy, but has the quality of hand carving or sculpting. As a result it has much more of the feel of the newspaper strips and TV cartoons (unlike the recent film which, I thought, lost most of the charm of Schulz's drawing and style. The image reflects the characters chosen (Snoopy as a shepherd is particularly good) and is great fun.I have taken off one star for the RRP which seems on the high side; with the current discount it is much more appealing

Peanuts gallery Christmas Pageant figurine was packed with utmost care ensuring no breakage of edges or corners; especially the staff that Snoopy is holding. Love Jim Shore's consistent attention to detail; this nativity scene is adorable. Love how solid and durable it is, and love the colors. It's perfect.
