Can Ortho Orthene Fire Ant Killer Broadcast Granules and Mound Treatment be used indoors?

This product is for outdoor use only. Fire ants are best treated at the source—their mounds, which they typically build in lawns, fields, or pastures. If you're seeing ants indoors, you're probably dealing with a different type of ant.

What is the best time to apply fire ant killer?

When ants are most active: in the early morning and late evening. Applying during these cooler times of day is better for you, too, since you won't be out during the hottest part of the day. Just make sure temperatures are between 65°F and 80°F.

Are Ortho Orthene Fire Ant Killer Broadcast Granules and Mound Treatment safe to use around my pets?

The best way to keep your pets safe is to follow all label directions. That means not allowing people or pets to reenter treated areas until granules have been watered in and the area has dried.
