This hat keeps those annoying gnats out of my face. Living in the country can be a pain but this makes it a lil better.

Last summer due to heavy development in the area (all the farms and fields are becoming vacation rentals) a hive ran out of water and found our cats outdoor waters (former strays but one hasn’t moved inside and we like to have water for any passing through since the desert can be so dry). So anyhow there was a whole hive that needed watering (wow can bees chug) and I’m allergic so I need more precautions. This is the perfect hat to round out my jacket, gloves combo that I wear over pants and boots. The light grey is a lovely cool shade, and the netting isn’t too bad to see through for moving around and also grabbing and holding tools. This also came in handy after a windstorm knocked off some string lights and when I got out the ladder I found a wasp nest (also allergic), still had to fix the lights after it was removed and this made me very relieved just in case someone came home while I was up there. Mostly if I have this out I’ll have the netting down, otherwise I’d choose a hat with more sun protection (instead of netting). This hat fits well, stays in place while moving and it actually looks pretty nice. Not sure how easy it would be to see out of the darker netting but the light grey is perfect for me. Love that it can be used for so much, and I can prune or weed or just put out waters and not worry about myself so much it’s hard to work. No funky smell, just need a better storage solution because I like to have it easy to grab but protect the netting, which is a sign of how much it’s come in handy already and summer just started.

I certainly wish I had had this Connectyle Men's Mosquito Net Hat for Fishing, Gardening, Beekeeping, or Hiking when I was in Alaska a few years ago. I've NEVER seen so many mosquitoes in my life. I guess that is why I had to have this hat when I saw it. It is nearly perfect except for one thing. The netting is a little too narrow around the bottom, where it hangs on the body. That makes it a bit uncomfortable, but it isn't a game-changer. It is still an excellent hat and I would still buy it again. The netting itself is very nice, thick enough to prevent the smallest insect from entering the facial and neck area. The hat fits perfectly, even on my head, and I am a woman. I don't know why they said it was for men unless they didn't realize that women actually fish, hike, camp, and care for bees! We do!! I'd rather fish than eat!! I'll get a lot of use of the hat and highly recommend it.

Great hat for buggy weather!The hat is well-made, and does the job. The size is easily adjusted, and there's plenty of netting to securely cover the head and neck.We selected an olive green, so the hat doesn't quite reflect away sunlight, but it's well-ventilated and comfortable enough (as good as any similar hat) to wear in hot and shady conditions.It makes being outside bearable. When not in use, pile the netting on top of the brim of the hat.At about $18 (time of writing) this is a great value. Highly recommend.

I got it for my son who is an AVID outdoorsman and also works outside. After initially telling me he would make fun of HIMSELF if he ever wore it, he did admit he might be desperate enough to wear it. It also comes in handy when mowing the lawn!The netting is long and leaves ample space. The only negative about this quality hat is that the netting doesn't stay nicely on top of the brim like in the picture. I had in my mind that it tucked into the hat to stay out of the way but it doesn't and a review of the pics shows it doesn't. We will have to figure out a way to keep it out of the way when not needed. Other than that it's great.Full Disclosure: This review is based on my personal and unbiased opinion. I always wash everything I buy before using it, but one wonders with such as this, but I took a chance and it turned out PERFECT! Machine laundered on delicate IN A LINGERIE BAG, and drip dry. I was impressed with the fabric, rim and color stability, net quality and care seen in sewing. The hat proves excellent air circulation and the netting can be raised and lowered quickly as need without any discomfort or fuss. I will be buying more of these for Family, that are outdoor lovers. We consider such headgear essential because you never know when insects will appear and the simple solution is a hat like this. Highly recommend this product! I ordered this Connectyle Men's Mosquito Net Hat for Fishing, Gardening, Beekeeping, Hiking Boonie Hat primarily for use for fishing and to also take along with me during camping trips just in case of certain areas with an abundance of gnats or mosquitos which I find extremely annoying. I am much more familiar with the beaches in the southeast USA, but I also do some surf fishing in the northeastern seaboard states with my father and was quite surprised to find out that some of the beaches up north attract swarms of relentless gnats that seem to nest in the rocks and seaweed which then pounce upon you from the skies by the hundreds. I have never seen or experienced anything problematic with insects like that on any southern beaches. Thus, I purchased this hat with a built-in insect net in case I ever find myself in that situation I will be ready. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hat's construction it is not floppy or flimsy whatsoever like some of the other Boonie hats I have purchased in the past. It actually reminds me of a military grade quality Boonie hat I purchased years ago at a military surplus store and ultimately lost on a river kayaking trip. Equipped with the netting, which also smartly folds/tucks up and out of the way while not in use I am confident that I will be completely unfazed by any airborne insects while wearing it in the future.
