'The contribution made by American capitalism to German war preparations can only be described as phenomenal. It was certainly crucial to German military capabilities...Not only was an influential sector of American business aware of the nature of Naziism, but for its own purposes aided Naziism wherever possible (and profitable) - with full knowledge that the probable outcome would be war involving Europe and the United States'. Penetrating a cloak of falsehood, deception and duplicity, Professor Antony C. Sutton reveals one of the most remarkable but unreported facts of the Second World War: that key Wall Street banks and American businesses supported Hitler's rise to power by financing and trading with Nazi Germany. Carefully tracing this closely guarded secret through original documents and eyewitness accounts, Sutton comes to the unsavoury conclusion that the catastrophic Second World War was extremely profitable for a select group of financial insiders. He presents a thoroughly documented account of the role played by J.P. Morgan, T.W. Lamont, the Rockefeller interests, General Electric Company, Standard Oil, National City Bank, Chase and Manhattan banks, Kuhn, Loeb and Company, General Motors, the Ford Motor Company, and scores of others in helping to prepare the bloodiest, most destructive war in history. This classic study, first published in 1976 - the third volume of a trilogy - is reproduced here in its original form. The other volumes in the series study the 1917 Lenin-Trotsky Revolution in Russia and the 1933 election of Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States.

A book designed to shine a light in dark places, Highly Recommended!!!
I found Professor Sutton's work to be superbly referenced, and a thoroughly enjoyable book to read. This is truly a book for any serious students/readers on International Finance / World War I & II / and anyone with the slightest interest on what role did key Wall Street banks (Chase Manhattan, J.P Morgan) and other American businesses (Ford, AT&T, etc) support Hitler's rise to power by financing and trading with Nazi Germany.Having read the 1star review on this book, I felt compelled to defend Professor Sutton's work and to perhaps suggest to the previous reviewer `I White' that they would do very well to read any of the following books by "REAL" historians. In response to reviewer `I White's' comment that Professor Sutton's work smacked of `Conspiracy rules ok', I would wager next months mortgage payment that `I White' would find it difficult to dismiss the following essential reading list as a collection of conspiracy writers. All of the following authors and books point, support, and provide evidence to the very same conclusions that Professor Sutton reaches in his book ..........Let the light shine in dark places!!!!!All honorable men by James Stewart MartinAmerica's Second Crusade by William Henry ChamberlinPerpetual War for Perpetual Peace by Harry Elmer BarnesThe Confessions of a Monopolist by Frederic Clems HoweThe Makers of War by Francis NeilsonHitler's Magician: Schacht - the Life and Loans of Dr. Hjalmar SchachtGenerals in Grey Suits: the Directors of the International 'i G Farben' Cartel, Their Conspiracy and Trial at Nuremberg by Josiah Ellis DuboisWall Street and the Rise of Hitler by Antony C. Profit Over Ideology
This book is well researched and presents many facts, drawing partially upon Nuremberg War Trials sources and bank statements of the Nazi Party, that show the links between the American military-industrial complex, Wall Street international financiers, and Hitler's Nazi Party. Although this does not provide a "good read" in the narrative sense, it presents some shocking information which largely undermines our previous historical understanding of the Nazi Party's rise to power in Germany. Sutton presents evidence which indicates that previously praised American figures, such as FDR and Henry Ford, were involved in financing Hitler's Nazi Party and enabling the German war machine.

Discover Hitler's paymasters...
Wall street's backing of the 20th century's worst despots and mass murderers in history exposed. Again Sutton uses no rhetoric but rather provides fact after fact after fact. This book is a must read for a grown up and honest understanding of the hidden history of the last bloody century.

Important book!
This is an important book. It is excellent! My father who participated in WW2 and later deserted from the Luftwaffe in 1944, always argued that it must have been the Americans who financed Hitler. Noone else had the possibility. But I didn't believe him. He said, after WW1 Germany was in a complete disaster and it was not possible to build such an enormous death-war-machine out of ashes and bricks in that short period of time. It must have been US money, he said. He thought that the purpose of financing Hitler was to smash the communists once and for all. But on that point he was wrong, according to the book. It would though been interesting to read more about the reasoning behind the financing, and why US bankers wanted war in Europe. The book is very thorough on the proofs that the Wall Street Apex financed the raise of Hitler. It is clear that without the Wall Street funding, the know-how and the direct investments in Nazi Germany, the war would not have been possible for Hitler. It is also astonishing to read that Himmler got funding from Wall Street up to 1944. It is a pity that colored history magazines now flooding the bookstalls, often is about famous battles from WW2, but not a single word about the fact that both Stalin and Hitler was backed from Wall Street.

They dont teach you about this in school. This ...
They dont teach you about this in school. This book tells the truth about how the nazis were helped by international bankers and corperations ( thats right the usual suspects) to build their war machine and how Hitler and his henchman could not have done it without their help.

Une coopรฉration entre I. G. Farben et la Standard Oil of New Jersey pour produire de l'essence synthรฉtique ร base de charbon a donnรฉ ร la I. G. Farben le monopole de cette production durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

A Must Read For Everyone Who's Interested in History
I have been aware for quite some time of how the banking system and the Federal Reserve control the money supply and subsequently impact the economy by inducing economic booms and which end up with devastating busts. After reading the Creature from Jekyll Island, I learned about the banking cartel's vested interest in the military industrial complex. But what I wasn't aware of, was how large American corporations such as Rockefeller's Standard Oil, General Electric and Ford Motors have contributed to the financing of Hitler's rise to power and the implementation of economic fascism. I also wasn't aware of the connection between Hitler's election in Germany and FDR's in the United States, both coming into power during the same year, 1933. The conclusion I drew from reading this book, was that in addition to making a lot of money, the leading elites of such Wall Street companies (along with several leading New York banks) had a crucial goal of gaining monopolistic control of the economy. By using the coercive power of the government and its politicians, they're able to eliminate competition through the implementation of regulations, tariffs, and taxation (which were putting the smaller competitors out of business). By using extensive propaganda of associating capitalism with negative attributes and by largely contributing to economic devastation (such as the Great Depression via the boom/bust induced by the central bank) the leading Wall Street elites were successful in establishing monopolistic industries and introducing economic fascism in Germany (note that these were not the only factors contributing to the rise of fascism but were very instrumental in the economic transformation which lead to the rise of Hitler and consequently to WW2). Thus, it was important that they could control who comes into leading position powers of the nation, both in Germany and the U.S. at that time (which, I suspect, is still happening today). The author has done an excellent job documenting from the U.S. government archives (and other sources) the events detailing piece by piece the contributions made to the rise of fascism and the election of Hitler (and FDR in America). He uncovers the financial contributions with exact amounts, by which American corporation and German or European affiliate, often with evidence of the banks' receipt of such funds. Mr. Sutton eloquently elaborates on the evidence of the profits made (while in monopolistic status) by Wall Street large corporations when engaged in providing the necessary resources (armament, gun powder, tanks, etc.) to conduct what many may call it "Hitler's War". But one can very easily come to the conclusion (after reading the book) that without the contributions (financial, equipment, and technology) of the banking cartel and Wall Street large corporations (described above plus more listed in the book) Adolph Hitler would have remained an unknown socialist ideologue that would have never made it into history books. After reading this book, I see the world with different eyes. This ought to be a must read on the reading list of every American and European child, in every school, in every history book. But the Road to Serfdom must continue and it appears that it may not be convenient to teach the historical facts which reveal the truth.

We are all being played like a bunch of young children by the bankers.
My father and Grandfathers fought in the German army in WWII. Much of the material published in this book has been conveyed to me orally as to what really went on inside Germany before and during the war. It was not the same as what was being taught in the Canadian schools I went to. This book basically writes about what I was told, but goes further in filling in lots of the spaces and goes into more detail as to why certain events were unfolding as they were. The book is well written, quite repetitive about many events to make sure you get it, names lots of names and what they were generally doing in the background to pay for and facilitate the war. The shocking part is the cooperation at the highest levels to basically make a lot of money at the expense of the common soldier who paid dearly. This book, along with the other 2 on Wall Street & Roosevelt, and Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution give an entirely different perspective on powerful machinations in the background of the Western World that completely influenced the 20th century and are most likely heavily influencing this century as well. These forces try to stay as hidden and camouflaged as possible so there can never be any backlash against them. To shine the light on them and their chess game, hopefully, will cause them to freeze and end this game.
