Razor Sharp!
Fantastic knife, handles well, beautifully sharp blade. The balance and weight are awesome as well. I highly recommend it. I was so impressed with the quality and performance I bought more as a gift for family.

VERY HIGH QUALITY & GOOD DESIGN
This is clearly a high quality knife, with an edge that's sharp enough to shave with. It slices through a tomato as though the skin does not exist. Mine varies a bit from the picture in that near the blade edge there are a dozen small elliptical "divits" which aid in releasing sliced food from the blade. The edge is beveled on both sides so it can be sharpened by the usual method with a sharpening steel, which I recommend. The handle fits the hand nicely and the blade has a good bolster and a full tang through the handle. It is heavier than a "regular" knife but it is not a cleaver and it is not intended to chop through bones, nor should it be used that way. The VG-10 core is very hard and thus somewhat brittle and subject to chipping if it is misused. The VG-10 core is used because it is capable of taking and holding a fine edge. This is a knife which should be used for slicing meats or vegges, or for chopping vegges (on a wooden board only please) and the slight curvature of the blade is perfect for those uses. I like everything about this knife and see no reason to doubt that it will last for generations if given reasonable care. Do not toss it into the dishwasher or risk chipping because of contact with other metal utensils in a silverware drawer for example. This is a first class product and it earns my highest recommendation! As always, this is an honest and unbiased review, based upon by personal examination and use.

Cuts really well, BUT I've got SINCERE doubts this is Damascus steel
I'm just not convinced this is really Damascus processes steel. It's well balanced, has great cutting characteristics, feels great in the hand. Makes precision cuts easy... BUT I'm not convinced that the manufacturer is representing the steel used, accurately. I like much about this knife, and it's admittedly superior to most... but there's something about not trusting the claims made about it's construction. I've owned and used a lot of superior quality knives in my day. Doesn't time as a personal chef, and cooked virtually every day, for decades. German, Japanese, Chinese, and other steels... my experience tells me, there's something that feels misrepresented here. While I don't have the capacity to definitively test my instinct, I'm not ready to tell you this IS what they say it is... and that's unfortunate. Because without this doubt, I'd be fully on board with this representing superior value in the knife world. Regrettably, I have reservations about giving it my endorsement.

Great knife but blade has a small chip after use
I really like this knife. It is sharp, comfortable to use and excellent for chopping tough vegetables (ie, carrots, etc) as well as nearly anything else. I marked down a star because the blade chipped. I still like it and use it a lot but am disappointed with the chip

Amazing knife
Crazy cool knife to be honest. Super sharp right out of the box, it doesn't need to be oiled or anything like my other damascus knives. I do wish they weren't so misleading....they say it's a Japanese knife...but just a heads up, it's actually made in China. Now I don't really mind, as both countries have great knives. But Japanese MADE knives are always superior in my honest opinion, as they last a LONG time without needing to be sharpened (My old japanese knife went for 5-6 years, always super sharp without needing to be sharpened!! They're just made different.) . We'll see how this one holds up, hopefully it'll prove me wrong!

Does not look nearly as good as the photo
You canโt even see the pattern since itโs the same color as the knife. It doesnโt look nearly as good as the photo, returning this since half the reason was that it was such a nice looking knife.

Knife is dull after 2 tomatoes.
Keep looking and pass this knife by unless you want to sharpen 10 times a day. I don't mean to hone either.

VERY Good Knife - Handle with Care
The quality of this knife was very surprising. Well made. Easy to use. It is VERY sharp. I haven't cut myself checking a knife blade in over a decade. I did on this - drew blood. That is NOT the fault of the knife. I've gotten used to products being made with inferior craftsmanship so I was not nearly as careful as I should have been when checking the sharpness of the blade. Overall, very impressive. I have been using this a lot in the kitchen and it's one of my favorites.
