A great book on decorating cakes. No matter if your a beginner or pro. Pages are colored and shows step by step directions. Can't go wrong with this book.

The book gives a lot of useful information about the equipment you will use and about baking cakes. There are a few recipes, mainly for icing and fillings. It does show step by step photos of creating decorations for cakes. My only complaint is that I was hoping the book would have some beginning projects. It even says on the front cover there are 8 projects. If all you are doing is practicing with icing, cutouts, or fondant...then yes, there is plenty of things to practice. However, while it has several pictures of completed cakes, the projects don't include step by step instructions of doing one of these decorated cakes. I wound up having to buy another book that gives cake decorating ideas to use in combination with this one.

Excellent book with lots of pictures to show you how to make a beautiful cake. I have been baking for years and have just decided to dress up my cakes and this was the right book to pick. I initially got it from the library with several other books on cake decorating but decided this was the one that gave the best instructions and had to own it. I had to pull out my book stand to keep it open while I work but that's my only complaint. Enjoy!
