Initially seemed quite lightweight and I'm not sure how protective it'll be if dropped, but I have been using it for a week now, carrying it in my bag etc and except for a small scratch on the back it appears to be wearing well and protects my iPad which is the most important thing. The only real letdown is that some of the top edges where the case fits around the edges of the iPad are a little rough and sharp, but as you're seldom running your hand over there and it's not damaging the iPad it doesn't matter.
