I used this to place a metal screw thread into a 3d printed piece. This piece is actually going to be subject to heavy vibration and screwing into direct plastic would cause a failure. This solution is perfect! The screw gripped onto the threads and secured the two pieces of 3d printed plastic tightly. If I tighten too much, the screw felt like it would strip out before damaging the screw thread. This tool was so easy to use and very strong. I definitely recommend this and see myself using this on many more projects, other than 3d prints. It's very versatile.l!

Fix my tread

First off, you get what you pay for. This is an all-inclusive kit for a low price and in that alone it is decent value for money. Everything was there and for me it arrived in good condition, but that is more of a compliment to Amazon and the delivery driver than a reflection of care taken by the seller. Everything arrived just kind of thrown together in a bag with the helicoils in a baggy of their own inside the main bag. This isn't great to see and usually some effort would be made to keep a tap, drill and tools from rattling around during transit. The quality of the tools themselves is on the level of what you would expect at a discount hardware store or perhaps a more hardware-inclined dollar store. As far as I can tell the helicoils, the tap and drill and the insertion tools should all be the full cost of the kit, so you are getting roughly 3X the bang for your buck, but don't expect miracles when it comes to quality. With some more careful packaging I would give this four stars since it is as described and a great price, but someone else is going to be less lucky than me when they receive this as the packaging is abysmal. I would not use this on any critical machinery, but as far as I can tell the helicoils themselves are fine.
