Affects Each Of My Cats Differently. It Calms One And Overly Excites The Other.
I purchased this for my 12 lb cat to calm her when the fireworks began on NYE. NYE and the 4th of July are always the worst days for her. She isn’t a skittish cat, but the fireworks scare her to death. She usually hides under the bed until the explosives stop. This year, with the collar was the best! There was very little hiding and she calmly walked around the house and let me pet her all while the fireworks went off.The next day, I put the collar on my 9lb cat. She isn’t afraid of fireworks not that there were any the next day. I just wanted to give her a little more zen. Well, the collar did not have the same affect. For her it was like catnip times 10. I took the collar off and she treated the collar like a toy. She rubbed her head on it, rolled around on it and chewed it a bit. When I tried to take it away, she nipped me. She’s chasing my other cat around the house to playfully attack her.I’m wondering if their differences in their weight played a factor as to how it affected them? It could be too potent for a smaller cat.I’ll buy this again. For me it’s great. It soothes that cat who needs it and is a play toy for my other cat.

Has the opposite effect.
Because I failed to read the reviews, I bought this collar instead of my usual Sentry brand one, only to discover its main ingredient is CATNIP. I have had or fostered more than 30 cats, and not a single ONE of them was calmed down by catnip. A few don't react at all, but 90% of cats spaz out when exposed to catnip. If this actually works for your cat, you are in the minority.Excuse me while I go break up some cats fighting over the packaging for this collar which they pulled out of the trash.

Strangulation hazard beware!
I don't think it worked at all. Didn't see a difference in behaviour. But worse I felt like the product was unsafe. There's no mechanism to break away should the cat get the collar caught on anything and this could be fatal. The cat could get strangled. I had an incident where she was hissing at foster cat and it wasn't as tight as it should have been so her mouth got under the collar and she couldn't close her mouth. She couldn't stop hissing or drooling on herself. She's also sick now. She won't eat and has been throwing up. I took it off her the other day. I don't know if it's related or just stress from the foster cat though.

Caution contains Catnip Oil
It contains catnip oil. Do not buy. It Hyped my cat up not calmed her down! This would be better marketed as a toy for cats than a calming collar.

READ THE REVIEWS! awful!
I've been using calming collars on our cat for close to 5 years, she had trouble adjusting to being the only pet, after getting puppy..having kids. She peed on clothes and scratched at the carpet. Had used the plug ins but having big house and buying refills every months for 5 rooms got to expensive. Been through quite a few brands of calming collars, this is BY FAR the worst. Smell is gross, didnt read the reviews to see main ingredient in it was catnip oil. So at 1st hour or so she went nuts. After couple days she was fine but didnt work as well as other collars, she started scratching. I ended up sending it back for refund.

not safe for a cat.
This does not break away and so there is a major risk for the cat to get the collar stuck around their mouth if they are trying to wiggle out of it. This is a common problem as I did research. It does not matter if it is snug cats can still get out of it. I had to quickly get it off my cat as it was stuck around his jaw and mouth. We eventually just put it on his stuffed animal so he could still sit near his stuffed animal and get the benefits of pheromones.

Made my cat high
My cat is a rescue and she had been abused before, her anxiety with the other cats led us to putting this collar on her to try and calm her down. The odor of this collar is very strong, like mint and some kind of herbs, I didnt want to wear it so I felt bad for her. It was so strong that it made my cat run away and hide. When I found her about 2 hours later she was very upset and her pupils were huge! She wouldn't let me near her because she thought I was going to hurt her. Bad trip I guess, buyer beware

Made of catnip oil.
The collar might be ok if you have only one cat but when you have more or in my case 6 can be a chaos. You know what catnip does to them. As soon I put the collar my cat got hyper and the other 5 started to attacking him.I had to remove it immediately.

Takes the edge off without dampening natural behaviour
This collar does serve the purpose of calming down a rather boisterous young male cat who wants to chase his older female sibling. The female cat also can smell the collar and it seems to ‘chill’ both of their anxiety with each other. She is no doubt the boss and scares the younger male and that causes him to spray. After nearly a month both cats are friendlier with each other while maintaining healthy distance. His spraying is much less often.I’m optimistic that with a few more collars, and time, they’ll be more socially integrated.I’m also using pheromone diffusers in the house.
