Does the chemical smell in the steam ever go away? I've used this four times so far with pure, filtered water, but it still smells like chemicals.

I have been using it everyday and I don't have any problem. Use use distilled water, not regular tap water.

How strong is the steam?

It's pretty strong, I use mine twice a day, and it's still working correctly. It heats up really quickly, I wouldn't recommend going to close to it, it can burn it is steam.

Why does my steamer have a buzzing sound when on?

It has a very low buzzing sound.
