Semi Permanent Hair Color, 088 Magenta, 4 Fl Oz (2 Pack)

My hair is wavy and down to the middle of my back. I’m naturally brown hair and about 50% gray, I’ve added the before pictures just so you could see how crazy it’s been growing out and pretty much ugly because I haven’t colored it in about 10 weeks. My hair has always been colored on the red side out of a box permanent color. This is the first time I’m using a semi permanent hair color color and first time going with a non-natural standard color. I am trying only the Magenta by itself. I’m putting these notes together as I’m doing the process so I can tell you, I have No Idea how this is going to turn out. 👀 Here’s what I did: 1.) I mixed the hair color with about a third of white conditioner and mixed it. 2.) I added a mixture of shampoo and conditioner below the hairline to try to prevent skin staining. I’m always challenged when it comes to these home jobs. 3.) Went into the shower and sat on the floor with the mixed dye and my gloves on. I have long hair, so I leaned over the bowl of mixture, which is rather runny as people have mentioned. Applied mixture to hair carefully while leaning over the bowl to make sure none of the product got on my shower floor. 4.) From there, I cleaned the bowl while still in shower by adding water and pouring it directly down the drain to keep it from spreading throughout the shower floor. I did this a few times until it ran kind of pink. I also washed my comb which cleaned up just fine. I placed the rinsed bowl on a dark towel in case pink might show up from any leftover water. Put the bowl in the sink until end of process cleanup. 5.) I didn’t use my comb throughout any of the application except to mix the conditioner and the hair color because I couldn’t find my hair dye brush. It worked fine. Cleaned up perfectly. 6.) Then, I wrapped my head in plastic wrap as best as I could without really looking at what I was doing. Just enough to keep the drips off my skin and the hair up. 7.) Sat on the porch for 45 minutes with a glass of wine and waited. Thoughts running through my head thinking I must be crazy and this is a total home experiment. I am nervous.😬😬 8.) Cool rinsed in the shower with without shampoo. Because I use the curly girl method to keep hair from looking too fried, I figure the leave-in conditioner is just fine instead if the suggested shampooing for the moment (today?). I’ll shampoo with my low poo later today just to make sure I don’t leave product wherever I put my head (pillows) later. 8.) Went out for dinner with hubby. He likes the color. Update: This color has lasted much longer than I thought it would. I wash my hair about 2x a week with low-poo so that may be why it has lasted so long. My roots have grown out and need touch-up but the color is great. I like color while it softens with washes. Going to try Cajun Spice next. Wonder how that will turn out on top of this Magenta. 🤔 July 21 - posted a picture of just Magenta color about a month old. Roots are dark with grays and rest of hair is quite bright magenta 1. Just going to go for it with Cajun Spice color right over the old- no conditioner mix and no heat 2. Results pic posted - my thoughts…. Drum roll…👀

Vivid color

Been buying this product since I was a teenager and now I’m almost in my 30s! If you have red hair magenta is such an amazing color!! You can see the tip of my hair was used by another product but the rest was used by Adore! In Magenta and yess I used prob half or more of just 1 bottle. I like to add water and make it damp, then add a little conditioner, then add the product. Wait 30 mins then rinse. It’s literally amazing.

I have received so many compliments using this, magenta. I do apply on dry hair. Kind of a bummer to see color come out each wash, but really over all, it's vegan, easy and great color! I've been using it since Aug, need to order more this month

This might be my new favorite! It was a good consistency, not too thick or runny. It covered my hair easily with less then 1 bottle (my hair is very thin and fine, a bit past my shoulders) I left it on for about 2 hours, the color was rich, bold and bright! I get lazy keeping my hair dyed but this still looked pretty damn good after almost 6 weeks! Obviously it has faded dramatically but it stayed a nice shade and has faded less than other brands I've used. For the first 4 weeks I washed it with regular shampoo once a week and with cleansing conditioner the rest of the week. Then about week 5 I started using regular shampoo most of the week to purposely try to draw a bit of color out before recoloring it but it's sticking in there pretty good! I'm not complaining, the less I fee l I need to color my hair, the happier I am! The price is perfect and I'll be ordering it again for sure!

Adore dye is THE ONLY dye I use in my hair! I have so many pictures with various colors but I’ve been rocking periwinkle lately. This is right after applying but it fades perfectly into pastel purple

Color is almost exactly what's on the label, which is nice, because it was exactly what I wanted! It fades off fairly quickly, but as a semi-permanent color this is expected, and welcome if you want to switch out fairly frequently. Smells good, isn't very conditioning but isn't drying either, and fades to an electric fuchsia before going pink.

I love adore, but their colors can be inaccurate; this is one of them. I expected a pink with purple undertones or a pink-ish purple, but this shade is definitely RED! Not close to magenta at all. My base was already a faded red, however, even straight out of the tube, you can tell that this product is a deep red. In fact, I had to dilute it with conditioner. It looks nothing like the photos on Amazon. So if you’re looking for a true magenta, buy Good Dye Young, Arctic fox, or any other brand. I will say that this product works well for the price, however the color close to the hairline fades extremely fast. My edges look blonde compared to the rest of my hair.

Much brighter than permanent colour and more comfortable on the scalp for sensitive skin. Tip- I find if I apply it to dry hair and then (hot) blow dry it and then finally use a flat iron or crimping iron on it before washing the product out the product stains the hair much better and last longer. A lot of the product washes back out if not enough heat is applied when colouring the hair

Die Farbe ist leuchtend und sieht auf hellbraunem Haar toll aus. Mein Haar ist nach dem Färben glänzend und seidig. Die Farbe hält lange. Ich kann sie wärmstens empfehlen.

Backstory- I initially did a colour remover and dyed it with a dark red dye permanent dye, which lasted all of 2 seconds.. It faded to a like weird light brown really quickly.. So I thought I’d try this semi dye, instead of another permanent one (and damaging my hair further) and oh my god it’s amazing. As with all semi perm dyes if you sweat or get rained on, it’ll leak, so just be warned.. BUT this colour hasn’t faded.. it’s been 3 weeks and after I wash it each time, it just becomes darker and more beautiful, I am sooo happy with this dye!! Much better than some other dyes I’ve used! One bottle covered my hair nicely. I left it on for about 30mins, using a hair dryer to heat it up at the start for about 5mins. (My hair is damaged so I am wary of using heat) I use olaplex shampoo and conditioner AND the hair mask to help protect my hair and prolong the colour. Photos: It’s a really odd consistency, more like an opaque red colour, reminds me of a Jelly nails vibe. Please ignore my crappy looking mirror - the sheen on this colour when it hits light is just stunning. Last pic is taken just now, about 3 weeks after colouring - definitely gone more red toned but nice and even, just beautiful!

Ottimo prodotto: colore meraviglioso e non invadente nonostante la tonalità sia molto accesa. Ho i capelli decolorati sulle punte e scuri come colore naturale...sul colore scuro è uscito un riflesso che rende molto omogenea la resa finale. Il prodotto è molto buono, a base di Aloe, ovviamente ci sono pigmenti e ingredienti chimici ma è comunque un buon inci per il tipo di prodotto. Inoltre ho finalmente ottenuto la tonalità che desideravo... sono riuscita a togliere un fastidioso tono blu che avevo ottenuto con tinte precedenti non buone. Il capello asciutto se la mangia proprio questa colorazione, la assorbe benissimo e macchia pochissimo pelle e oggetti, i capelli non sono per niente ispidi a differenza di altri prodotti... consigliatisismo!
