It is the right amount of flexibility + stiffness. It feels like it will hold up through washing. There were no loose threads on the patch. I did not realize it was an iron on, until I saw the packaging it arrived in. Bonus for me. I was planning on giving it to my niece and also offering to sew it on to her backpack.

while I love the vibrant black and white colors and the cool ying-yang design, I wasn't able to adhere this patch by heat and had to sew it on. I added this to a kitchen apron that I sewed for a family member and they haven't washed it yet so I'm not sure how it holds up during washing, but at least with it being stitched on I won't have to worry about it coming off in the wash. It did add a nice pop of design, so aesthetically it was what I was hoping for, but would have liked to have simply ironed it on.
