It is very shallow. It'll definitely work for my RV but I would not recommend for a family trying to make full meals. If I had ordered it for my house I would have returned it, but like I say it's fine in the RV. I just recommend looking at the actual dimensions before you buy. I've tried to capture it in pictures. Most of the height from the side view is taken up by the elements.
