Review: Brings Back Memories! - My mother used to make a particular cookie only at Christmas time; for years (something like 30+ years!!!) I’ve been asking her for the recipe, but over the course of time, the cookbook is nowhere to be found. I could picture the cover in my head, but could not see the title of the book. Hours upon hours have been spent searching my mother’s house (she thinks it may have been thrown out, but isn’t sure) and the internet. I finally found it on desertcart! The minute I received it, I knew immediately it was “THE ONE”. I didn’t even have to look in the index for the recipe, I flipped right to the page, and started crying tears of joy!!!! Maybe the memory of my childhood fondness for these cookies is better than the actual thing (but I doubt it! After all, if I’m still wishing for them all these decades later, they must be good, right?!?) In any case, the cookbook itself brings back years & years of happy memories baking in the kitchen with my mom. I haven’t made the cookies yet, but will be soon; and will be sharing them with my mother, with a note saying she can finally stop looking for “the recipe” lol.

Brings Back Memories!
My mother used to make a particular cookie only at Christmas time; for years (something like 30+ years!!!) I’ve been asking her for the recipe, but over the course of time, the cookbook is nowhere to be found. I could picture the cover in my head, but could not see the title of the book. Hours upon hours have been spent searching my mother’s house (she thinks it may have been thrown out, but isn’t sure) and the internet. I finally found it on Amazon! The minute I received it, I knew immediately it was “THE ONE”. I didn’t even have to look in the index for the recipe, I flipped right to the page, and started crying tears of joy!!!! Maybe the memory of my childhood fondness for these cookies is better than the actual thing (but I doubt it! After all, if I’m still wishing for them all these decades later, they must be good, right?!?) In any case, the cookbook itself brings back years & years of happy memories baking in the kitchen with my mom.
