Nice Shinobue
This is my first shinobue (and my first wind instrument). It is high quality and a very good value for the money. The build quality is quite good, and the sound is fantastic. At first, getting a sound out of it was quite difficult, but I agree with the other reviewer that, once you get the hang of it, it is awesome! It just takes some practice! I highly recommend this.

Takes practice
Hard as heck to make sound but when you get the breath and holding it right then it becomes awesome

Okay
Quality isn't too great, there's glue residue visible, but sounds fine.

Impressive quality for the price
My son chose this for himself, and I admit I questioned how something this inexpensive could possibly be considered a real instrument. The flute, however, appears to be well made, and sounds like a real flute. It's not easy to play, but that isn't a bad thing. Real instruments are often difficult to play at first. It comes with a little plastic "cheater" that helps you blow properly into the mouth opening. My son is sounding better and better all the time.

Impossible/very hard to play
After several months, I have found it virtually impossible to get any melodic sound out of this shinobue. I have watched YouTube videos, repositioned my lower and upper lips, tried with fingers off and on. Nothing. If I could have tried it before I bought it, I would not have bought it. The only reason I am keeping it is to see if some other shinobue players I know might be able to produce a sound on it. I would not recommend anybody waste their money on this thing.
