My Favorite New Device/Toy/Gadget/Tool/Item
I love my new Nocs Zoom Tube monocular and microscope accessory attachment so much! I bought the Nocs Provisions Zoom Tube 8x32 Monocular and the Nocs Provisions Inspector Microscope 4X Multiplier Lens. (Items sold separately.) This thing is the best! I have been trying to replace an old 8 x 20 Hoya monocular-microscope that I bought way back in the 1980’s from REI in Seattle when I was just a teenager. I’ve used and loved that Hoya for 40+ years. (TY Hoya! I really hate to have to retire my old friend but it gave me many, many years of loyal service!) Unfortunately, the Hoya microscope attachment got crushed several years ago and I’ve looked for a replacement for the item occasionally over the years without success. I was so happy when I finally found this Nocs Zoom Tube monocular with a microscope attachment that I bought the items right away! First, it’s a perfectly good 8 x 32 monocular. It measures about 5.5 x 2.5 inches (about 14 x 6.2 cm) and weighs about 9-10 ounces (about 250- 285 grams or so). The monocular is easy to use and offers a very good view for such a small item. I use it while out-and-about to look at birds and other critters. The Zoom Tube is about the size of a smallish to medium-sized flashlight. It will fit in a pants or jacket pocket easily enough. It would fit in a day-use sized backpack with no problem at all. And best of all, it is small and light enough to pack for travel or extended camping so I can leave my heavy, bulky binoculars home. The microscope attachment is amazing. I’m using it now to do some detailed work on a fish fossil that I am cleaning (see picture) but also use it to look at all kinds of other things I find while out hiking. The microscope attachment is about 3.5 x 2.5 (9 x 6 cm) inches in size. I don’t know what it weighs but it’s easily half the weight of the monocular. The monocular is both sturdy and rubberized. It has a bracket for mounting on a tripod and comes with a wrist strap. The Zoom Tube is water resistant. (The Field Tube is Nocs waterproof monocular). The Microscope 4X Multiplier Lens is also listed as waterproof. The microscope attachment is much bigger and wider than my old Hoya, which is pleasing. The clear plastic visualization frame allows the unit to stand freely and allows maximal light to enter the field of view. The frame itself has two openings that can allow you to slide longer items that are less than about 1.5 inches (about 4 cm) wide and 1.5 inches tall through the visual field. The openings can also be used to reach a finger or probe into the field of view to reposition an item being viewed. It is certainly bigger, thicker, more sturdy, and less delicate than my old Hoya microscope attachment. The Nocs is about twice the physical size of my old Hoya that I’m replacing but that’s not a bad thing; the Hoya was nicely compact for sure but it was also a little on the small side. The Nocs is big enough to allow for better views overall but still small enough to carry and travel well. Nocs- a couple of suggestions: One, I would make the threads that join the two pieces a little larger. The threads are very small and thin. Since this is an outdoor-use item, I would make the threads that join the two pieces less refined since it’s safe to assume that some bits of dirt from regular use will eventually find their way into the threading and foul them over time. This is not a deal-breaker by any means though. Second, I’d also offer a protective case that would hold both items separately in one case. A case that would make it easy to get the monocular and/or the microscope attachment easily while out and about would be super nice! I lost my old Hoya because the case I hand-made for it years ago eventually failed, allowing the microscope attachment to get crushed. Of course I’ll be making something to protect my favorite new toy but if you sold one that held both items I would prefer to and would definitely buy one. I love this product so much! While I still have much love for my old Hoya and the years of service it gave me (even though part of it is broken now), the Nocs is a better item due to its larger Zoom Tube objective lens and the microscope’s larger field of view. If I had lots of money I would buy a Nocs Zoom Tube and Multiplier Lens microscope attachment for everyone I know and give them as gifts so everyone could enjoy one!

Lightweight, Clear, and Perfect for Quick Spotting
The Nocs Provisions Zoom Tube 8x32 has quickly become one of my most-used pieces of gear. I originally picked it up for fishing, and it’s been great for scanning open water and beaches when I’m trying to spot birds or any surface activity. The magnification is clear and steady, and while it doesn’t completely replace a full set of binoculars, it’s more than capable for fast, one-handed viewing. One of my favorite things about it is the size. It fits easily in my vehicle’s center console, which makes it convenient to grab whenever I’m out. It’s also light enough to throw into my hiking bag without noticing the extra weight, so it’s been a nice addition on trail days too. If you want something compact and durable for quick glassing without carrying full binoculars, this is a great option. It’s portable, sharp, and versatile enough for multiple uses.

Great monocular
I bought the Nocs Provisions Zoom Tube 8x32 thinking it would be a fun little extra for trips and ballgames. It has turned into something I keep in my bag almost all the time. First off, it is compact and lightweight. It fits easily in a backpack or even a larger jacket pocket, which makes it perfect for hikes, travel, or sitting in the stands when you want a closer look at the action. The textured exterior gives you a solid grip, and it feels durable without being bulky. Optically, it is impressive for its size. The 8x magnification brings things in close without feeling shaky or overwhelming. The image is clear and bright, and focusing is quick and smooth. It is great for spotting wildlife, checking out architectural details on a trip, or sneaking a better view of the bullpen from your seat. I also like the design. It feels modern and a little adventurous, not like something pulled out of a dusty drawer. It is functional, but it also looks good. If you want a compact monocular that delivers solid clarity and portability without a lot of fuss, the Zoom Tube 8x32 is a really strong choice. Easy to carry, easy to use, and surprisingly powerful for its size.

Great monocular for the price
Bought this for a vacation and it was fantastic. Easy to use, decent eye-relief (even with glasses). Not big, but not exactly small. Can fit uncomfortably into a front pocket in my jeans which have a little stretch but it wasn't a preferred situation. Easily slips into a backpack and is light enough to be EDC class if you carry heavy. Seems well built so far, build quality seems good, but also don't drop your optics people. If you're looking for milspec indestructible optics, this ain't it. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, decently portable monocular for casual use then this is a great option. I have not had a chance to use it for any astronomical observing yet but its on my list of things to try with it.

Great viewing in a compact package.
Very pleased with this monocular. It's just right for taking on a hike and the textured body is secure in your hand. I tried the Vortex Solo and while it was a high quality setup, the focus ring is super stiff and I found it impossible to focus without using two hands. The focus knob on the Zoom is easy to adjust with your finger while holding the scope. I have a hard time using binoculars so I went with the monocular and this is an excellent option.

Great for travel or to carry on the go!
This monocular is a great size to travel with or carry when hiking/walking. It is a very good value for the money considering what good binoculars cost and it is easy to use. Also has the ability to be used with or without glasses which is nice. The quality seems really nice, I think it will last for a long time!

Super good
My wife and I were going to Alaska. I purchased two of these and they were terrific. So much easier and convenient than binoculars. We were able to get great views of wildlife and nature. This was our best pre trip purchase. They will go with us on all future cruises.
