Buy Seymour Duncan SSTC 3 M3 3 Band Tone Circuit for Musicman with 3 Knob. Free delivery and returns on eligible orders. Review: Champagne performance at beer can prices. - I installed this active tone circuit with a separate Seymour Duncan Music Man pickup for a DIY Music Man/Fender parts bass guitar project and it sounds great! It has all of that beautiful tone of the MM Stingray. The potentiometers in the wiring harness were pretty good, and using the controls is really nice. The metal knobs feel sturdy, pots have a convenient 50% detint, twisting with good drag, and the push-pull knob has a satisfying click. There is no electrical noise in the signal when the controls are adjusted. Far superior to the loose and flimsy feeling controls installed on the production Sterling bass guitars from Ernie Ball Music Man. The only quality concern I had was with the red lead wire that was pre-installed on the circuit board. I ended up de-soldering the chincy little thing that it came with and replacing it with a thicker gauge stranded copper lead. The documentation for this is difficult to find, and I couldn't find any video showing an installation step-by-step. I had to dig around the website to find circuit schematics, and I never found the specific diagram for the STC-3M3 with stacked low/hi control. I ended up referencing the version with separate low and high controls, which electrically is essentially the same thing. I also had to dig for functional operation description, frequency response curves, and tuning instructions for the PCB-mounted slap circuit pots. The paperwork that came with the unit was minimal and printed in black and white which is unhelpful because so much of the circuit is color-coded wires. The website is probably overdue for a revamp to make it easier to find reference materials. On the plus side, Seymour Duncan's tech service is responsive, casual, fun, and very helpful for sourcing hard to find docs. I would certainly buy this again. Review: Alt. wiring schematics - Sounds great. I'd like to see alternative options of wiring. ie.... wiring for more than one pickup

Great product by a great company!
Great product, but complicated to install if you don't have any soldering experience (I do, so wasn't that big a deal to me). Really added depth to my bass. Comes with everything you need except new humbuckers or pickups. Just solder two wires to the audio, another from the audio to the battery negative, and then two wires to your pickups or switch(es). Plug in the connectors to the circuit board, and you're GTG! Price is fair and recommend this over anything else. The tone knobs (combined knob for bass/treble, single knob for mids) and the volume knobs work great! Definitely an A+ here.

Changed the entire sound of my Sterling 4 string Stingray
This is an awesome 3 band eq replacement for Sterling StingRay Subs. I also swapped the original pickup for an Aguilar AG 4M, and this bass now growls like never before. Even my luthier who replaced it for me said, "The sound out of this thing is otherworldly now." Agreed, it is. It literally joins the ranks, in regards to sound and look, with my more expensive basses. I will tell you one thing though, the Sterling Sub has less cavity space for this eq rather than the Ernie Ball Stingray bass guitar. I noticed somebody else had mentioned this in brief on the Q & A portion of the reviews. My luthier had to shave a slit inside the cavity to get the motherboard to fit. If you love and live to slap you'll love engaging the slap feature on this by pulling up on the volume knob - bonkers! I also like that I have a knob for mids too now. The bottom is bottomless, and the treble is crisp. You can't go wrong with this eq!
