This volleyball feels softer because it has a layer of foam padding inside. However, for some reason, it actually feels more painful on the arms compared to other volleyballs when it hits.

There's not a tremendous amount you can say about a volleyball, but this one is pretty good. It inflates nicely, and gets quite firm. It definitely bounces very readily when inflated -- surprisingly so as I'm probably used to cheap volleyballs and completely clapped-out Mikasas from my school days way back in the mists of time. The ball is made of a very soft material that makes it quite pleasant to play with. My son tried volleyball at elementary school for a season and found that it hurt his arms (probably still using the same balls from when I went to school 40 years ago) but I think he'd have a much easier time with this one. I'm actually impressed that the ball can feel so soft but bounce so well. The ball is snazzily detailed in white, gold and purple for all you Lakers and vintage Kings fans out there. Pretty eye-catching. :) All in all, a definite step up from cheapo volleyballs and past-their-prime school-issue standards. It's much more fun to play around with one of these than one of those!

I bought this ball as a present for a high school niece. It's what she was wishing for. The ball looks great and holds air pressure well. I am sure she will be delighted with it. I arrived flattened but inflated perfectly with a few little wrinkles that disappeared after a day or so. If you like volleyball, you'll like this ball. Recommended!

I find this a bit on the expensive side for something that isnt leather. However, it does feel well constructed and looks nice in the purple and yellow. The hole for filling also seems to be a bit reiforced. I could be wrong, but it feels a little thicker and more ridgid around the hole. The size is a bit smaller than I am used to, which is nice since I have smaller than average hands. As many others have noted, the ball is quite padded, which makes it a little easier to squeeze and grip when going into a jump server. It also has a nice firm bounce which isnt crazy, likely due to the padding absorbing some of the energy. The ball is rated at 4 to 6 pounds of pressure. I filled to 6 pounds, and the above was my experience. At 4, some of these control factors may even improve, with loss of speed of course. One thing I really appreciated was that the product description was very accurate and not hyperbolic or misleading. I appreciate that in a seller, and I would be more inclined to purchase this ball when described accurately as it was. Overall, I am quite pleased with the ball and the construction. I would love to have this in leather, but at 25 dollars, it is good enough to get an attractive and well constructed ball. 4 Stars. If this was under $20 dollars it would have exceeded expectations and would have been worth 5 stars. At $25, this is about the quality I would expect. Suitable for casual play.

Our teen daughter loves her volleyball, and her school team are really good, because they practice at home a lot, and this volleyball has been a great addition to our daughter's training routine. The quality of the material is really good, and it's a proper-sized volleyball, too, which is good. Our daughter uses this both at home on her rebounder net, and at her school gym during recess, and her game has definitely come on with the extra training she can do. Overall, a great volleyball either as your main one or back-up for practices and games.
