It’s an instant meal so of course it’s not going to be as great as a home cooked meal or, in my case, an appetizer you can get at a restaurant, but it really hits the spot when you’re craving some teokkbokki, but you don’t have the ingredients to make it yourself or you don’t feel like making it yourself. It says there’s no instructions in English, but that’s not true because mine did. It said to put the rice cakes in the container, put in the sauce and then fill it with water to the red line on the outside and I think that just means the outside part that’s red because that’s what I did and it was perfectly soft and chewy and delicious. I did stop mine a few times to stir though. And it says for 700W microwaves to microwave for 3 minutes which I did and it was perfect. And for a higher wattage to do just 2 minutes which I did today at work and it was perfect again. Highly recommend it is so tasty. I understand why some people wouldn’t like them.- they’re spicy, and they have an unusual texture if you’re not used to it. But they are delicious and not too spicy at all if you’re used to some spice. The texture is like any good dumpling from anywhere in the world; chewy, dense, and filling. Korean soul food! I think dumplings should be considered an absolute go to as a late night snack or as breakfast because they really hold you until the next meal. I highly recommend this for people who wants some thing that sticks to your ribs and opens up your nasal passages! It’s tangy and hot, but not the point of discomfort. It is very hard to know how much water to put in the cup though so you might wanna measure it with a measuring cup instead.
