Royal & Langnickel RART-200 Essentials Sketching Pencil Set, 21-Piece

i'm an amateur hobbyist "artist" no real formal training - just having fun and using drawing as a form of stress mgtmt and therapy - i don't really know there was any difference in pencils - all i know is #2 -- which we use to fill in the empty dots in school exams. anyway - i was looking on some video website where they discussed pencils and the hardness and softness of the graphite - while the #2 is pretty versatile - it wasn't light enough for the initial draft and not dark enough on the shadows where i needed it. i just got these pencils yesterday and these are excellent pencils for the price - they come pre sharpened so i have not yet sharpened them yet. there was one pencil where the wood still appeared at the end of the pointed graphite however - so it covered up the graphite. i just used it on a sketch - the art is OK but the pencils are great!

I have bought a total of three sets of these on two different occasions; I bought a double set for my own personal use to share with my sister, and another set recently for a friend. The pencils are tough and won't break easily, the sharpener is super sharp and can sharpen even the crappiest of cheap school-grade or annoying colored pencils, and the pencils write smoothly and don't catch on your paper. I could rave on for days about how glorious woodless pencils are. This one writes smoothly and is tough as well. The erasers included are both excellent as well. The graphite and charcoal sticks are nice but I personally keep them separated in plastic baggies so they don't get medium all over my kneaded erasers, other drawing utensils or pencil cases. The charcoal pencils are also very nice but sometimes pesky when sharpening. The soft ones' charcoal can break easily so you have to sharpen them carefully. This is an excellent set, especially for its price. Overall this is a five-star product that I love and would recommend.

I'm not the artist, my kids are and they are pretty good so this is going to be a more basic review. I originally bought 2 of these sets back in 2014 for the boys. I really hate buying stuff for the kids that gets used a few times and then gets ignored. This product was not like that. They used them often to the point that various parts got used up, damage from extensive use and or lost. They often went searching for the pencils in it. So I bought 2 more recently and since the current price was good bought a third set for spare parts. It seems a very nice basic starter set. The kids still use it all the time and it has produced some very nice drawings. There seems to be very little frustration factor with them, they really love them. Well worth the money spent.

This is the first set of drawing pencils I've ever gotten. I'm a hobbyist and a beginner, so high-quality products are not of the utmost importance to me. These pencils are of decent quality, but do the job, and I like them a lot. BUT. The erasers are simply alright, and the kneadable eraser in specific is really small. So you might be better off buying them separately. Also, my graphite pencil came broken! Split in two! I was really disappointed about that... Overall, I'd say this is a great set for any beginner, and the price can't be beaten. But if you're looking for something to do serious or professional drawing with, you should look elsewhere. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 for the broken graphite pencil.

Let me start by saying that when considering purchasing these pencils, I had considered other sets that were strikingly similar. But I am very glad that I went with this set over the other more expensive pieces. This set is great if you need a refresher on your old snubbed out utensils and erasers, or if you're just getting familiar with your creative side. I found myself doing both quick sketches and full traditional pieces comfortably with this set. In unison with the tools I'd previously purchased, this was ideal for me. I've only used a few other full sets similar to this one, but I must say that this one topped them all. I can't speak professionally, but many professionals I know would be pleased with this set, as well as I am. The pencils are wonderful. The shipping was quick on this product, I received it just on time and everything was in good condition. My only complaint is that on the 2B, the label was completely gone. But that was not a big issue for me. This product suited my needs just fine. And hey, for the price on amazon, you can't go wrong. I would recommend it to everyone I know if I got the chance.

This sketch set is overall a good one. It isn’t really for the pro artist type, but more for a beginner like me who wants to experiment with more sketching materials than, you know, a regular pencil and eraser. This set comes with everything you need to start your sketching journey; 3 charcoal sticks, 3 Graphite sticks, 3 charcoal pencils, 1 woodless pencil, 8 different graphite pencils with varying hardness and softness, a cool metal sharpener, a neaded eraser, and a regular eraser. This set is also a great gift, if you are looking for a gift for a friend or family member that is an aspiring artist. As I stated earlier, this set could be used with a professional, if you are looking for cheaper options, but this set is made for more of the beginner/ slightly more advanced and wants to experiment with more sketching materials than the average pencil. I bought this set along with the Royal Langnickel 104 piece Artist Easel Set, which is a great case, and I highly recommend. This drawing set is no different, it is a really nice set! If you have never used pencils before, it is great learning! I used to love charcoal, and haven't used it in a while, I am excited to use the charcoal in here. I tried out all of the pencils, charcoals, etc in this set and am very satisfied with the results. The erasers are also very nice. I haven't had to use the sharpener yet, but it seems like it is a good one. I am very happy with this purchase, and would definitely purchase again! Great value, and very nice materials!

My art teacher was very impressed with this complete set, it contained all that she requests of us in supplies and the quality it excellent. The kneading eraser leaves a lot to be desired since it is very small and breaks easily when you are trying to pull/clean it. If the kneading eraser was double the size I know the cost would be higher, but the brand name is all to look for on pencils, charcoals and even the white eraser are excellent! No need for a mars eraser if you order this package, put its never a bad investment to purchase a Mars eraser, if you are truly practicing to be an artist its a must to add to your art supplies and this package is quality and for the price - a double deal. Purchase two since most of the time a standard class wants you to have 2- of the 2B pencils. There is only one of each pencil in this package.

Es un kit básico de iniciación al dibujo de buena calidad y bastante completo (Un par de trapos/difuminos y ya puedes empezar a crear) La relación calidad-precio me pareció excelente,debido a que aproveché una oferta.No conozco el precio normal.
