An Unusual Solution to A Difficult Problem!
Never plant oak trees close to sidewalks, driveways or pavers! We bought a home that was surrounded by mature oak trees that provided a shady and somewhat isolating effect in an older development. Hard to find on a corner lot. But those mature oaks came with two major problems. While they provide shade and a cozy atmosphere, they also framed the 20 year old house well, creating barriers to noise, nosey neighbors and neighborhood traffic. The problems that came with these oak trees is that it starts raining oak leaves in October and doesn't stop until March, just in time for our Magnolias to start dropping their leaves. So if you don't want to rake your yard 6-7 months of the year, don't make the same mistake that we did. Mature trees also filter sunlight and make it more difficult to establish a bright and healthy landscape. If that's important to you, study up on it or hire a qualifed expert to do it for you. Plants are mostly finicky and expensive. Taking proper care of them can be really difficult. The second problem with mature oaks are the large and intrusive root system that each one has. It may not be obvious at first, but when your driveway starts to buckle, your sidewalks begin to crack and your pavers start popping up, you'll realize that you have a big problem. The easiest ones to push up are the individual pavers, resulting in an uneven surface for walking or biking. The solution is to cut the offending roots where they enter the paved area. I found out that the standard way of handling this is to have someone dig around these large roots and then use a (powerful) chainsaw to cut them into sections and pry them out of the ground. The problems with this method are two-fold: these roots are as hard as rock and a chainsaw is dangerous to work with. I'll never forget the lumberjack my Father and I rescued who was bleeding out from a chainsaw accident. (I'll be that he never forgot us either.) Chainsaws also have wider cuts and bind up easily with the dirt that surrounds the roots. So they don't last long before seizing or breaking. Enter my old friend the sawzall! I used cordless sawzalls when living in Southwest Florida to trim mangrove trees and Brazilian Peppers. in the wetland areas. Easy to handle, thin and sharp blades, and they don't jam up nearly as often as chainsaws. When you combine them with these EZARC Japanese blades, the work becomes easier, faster and safer. The thin blades (which hold their sharpened teeth well) will make your cuts deeper and quicker without binding up. This takes the difficulty out of removing those danged roots. Try it, you'll like it.

Exceptional blades.
I was a little hesitant about the claims but these blades went through everything I needed to cut and prune like butter. No binding up in the wood and only the occasional shaking of the saw. The curve of the blade is great for pruning and cutting down small stumps and small trees. Haven't tried it yet on a larger trunk but plan to. Hope they stay sharp for a while. Exceptional blades!

Great for oak tree stump removal.
I just got around using them thanks to a very wet Spring in San Antonio Texas this year. Bulk brush pickup is in two weeks so time is a factor. and I received two inches of rain in my outdoor rain gauge last night based on a 1% chance of rain reported on last night evening news. I first tried my chain saw to cut up a long dead oaks tree stump the bulk pickup. It failed as wood was too hard. Last ditch was the 15 inch this Arc Edge Blade. It worked well. What I liked most was it seems safer to use than the chain saw for a old man like me.

Perfect for pruning
Perfect blades each of them cuts same fast as silky but for lower price tou can have 5 if them and each longer. Really recommend them, for that price its a steal. Am using them with bosch handle for manual cutting and pruning. Even after 50 hand size trees still sharp as new.
