The way infinity pools work is you pump water from basin, which is lower than the pool level, thru anti-back-flow valve, into pool until it overflows back into the basin, creating a waterfall effect. But when the pump is off, the water wants to flow backward out of pool thru the pipe into lower level basin, until the pool level drops to level of basin, So there is a spring-loaded anti-back-flow valve in the pipe that lets water come from basin, but not flow backward back into basin. So you have to keep leaves, grass, etc from getting stuck in that valve and breaking its seal, allowing the water to flow backward. Not good, loose a foot of water or so. If you are thinking of getting a pool, skip the infinity edge. Looks cool, but adds to the complexity and potential for problems. In general, a pain in the butt.
