Even after a couple of hours I only had a few flyaways but mostly because I kept touching my hair. No white flaking. Even hours and hours later, my hair didn't get those white flakes that I get from most gels. I didn't notice a cherry scent, but the scent itself is not unpleasant and is barely there. It is sticky. You will need to wash your hair at the end of the day. But for the most part it holds up well and the jar is a good size.
