Ostrich The Original Chaise Lounge 72"x22" Portable Reclining Lounger, Blue

I absolutely love this beach chair! It is very comfortable for both resting and sleeping on the beach. The design provides great support, and I can relax for hours without feeling uncomfortable. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and perfect for beach days. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable beach chair.

I was hesitant to order after reading some reviews but decided I wanted something light weight, easy to carry to the park. So I took a chance. I’ve been using this lounger 3-4 days a week for a couple months now. For the price I’m very happy. I even use it at home on the deck. As far as sturdiness, I weigh about the rated weight limit for this chair. I sit down on it gently. I don’t just drop onto it. I also make sure it’s unfolded in the proper order, which isn’t tough. One leg, second leg, feet, then head. It unfolds in 5 seconds and sits solidly. I’ve never thought it would collapse under me. The ratchet mechanism for the incline has never failed. I wouldn’t mind having more angle options, but there are about 3 angles that I like and it meets my needs. I had a friend, who is well over the rated limit, use it once for an hour or so. Sat down slowly and had no issues. No damage or creaking. The feeling of the material is firm. It’s not a plush or soft seat. But it works for a couple hours. And the padding by the head helps. Being able to lay face down and having the special arm holes is very helpful. Overall I’d DEFINITELY buy it again. —————————— Update 8/17/19 Have had this chair all summer. Because of a medical condition, I spend 6-10 hours in this chair each day. I do get up and take short walks, stretch, etc. I weigh 215 lbs currently and the chair has held up to daily use. As I said before, the key is to open and close it in the correct order. That’s critical. But also easy. Also, I believe it helps that I lower myself gently into it. It’s been with me to parades, the beach, a concert, friends cookouts, and more. The only wear after such heavy daily use is that the fabric has a SLIGHT sag to it. It’s not enough that my body is hitting the support structure, but it may get there at some point. It’s probably more comfortable now that it does have a little give, than when new. Frankly, with hundreds of hours of use at this point, it could break today and it’d be money well spent.

Not as great as I thought it would be. The arm holes are a little too low to comfortably read a book or scroll on your phone since you have to move some to flip pages. If you have a small face, it will go completely through the hole, even when the flap is covering to lay on your back, it needs a strap or something to make it more secure. I was able to roll a towel so mine could rest better. The cushion around the face hole should be removable as it gets super sweaty on hot days. The chair is very sturdy and the material you lay on is strong. Overall it’s a decent chair for laying out.

This is a well thought out product. Very usable, durable and has a strap nice wide for carrying across your back. Highly recommend!

I never write reviews, but I had such a terrible experience with customer service that I thought I needed to share. I purchased this chair and it arrived to me broken (chair wouldn't fold out flat all the way, a metal piece seemed to be bent and stuck). I went to Amazon customer support to return it, but the return had to go through the seller, Ostrich. I reached out to Ostrich to process my return and get me a replacement chair and they didn't respond for days. I followed up, and when they finally did respond, they asked for information that I had already provided in my initial email (I guess they just didn't read it?) - prompting a lot of back and forth without a clear ask on their end with what information they actually needed. When we finally got all the basic information squared away, all they could do (per their warranty) is issue me a coupon code for a new chair through their website, less shipping... Okay, sure. Went to the Ostrich website to purchase a replacement, they had limited inventory so couldn't get the same colorway (annoying but whatever), put in the coupon code they gave me, and it was going to cost me an additional $30 to get a new chair... Not trying to sound like a Karen here, but not sure how it makes sense that a customer would spend $70 to get a broken chair and then have to pay another $30 to get it replaced. (The quality of this chair is definitely not worth $100 and neither is trying to figure out how to dispose of the broken thing). I opened up my concern with Ostrich on June 6, 2024 - it is now June 24, 2024 and this issue is still not resolved with them. I contacted Amazon again and they made it right, but it definitely turned me off from this brand. All around pretty exhausting experience with a very lack-luster outcome. and the chair itself is pretty cheap - it's lightweight but not super sturdy or comfortable. Definitely look elsewhere.

My daughter in law lived this chair

I really like this chaise lounge! It’s comfortable and perfect for relaxing outside. I love being able to sit back and enjoy the weather without having to use a regular chair. Great for lounging!

This is a fine chair, but it's not actually very comfortable for reading facedown, so that makes it hard to justify the price. The thing is, when your forehead is pressed against the cushioning around the hole, your hair and face will get sweaty fast and that's just gross. Also, you eyes are so close to the ground then that it's hard to focus properly on your book at that distance. I only lasted in the facedown position about 5-10 minutes before I realize that the Ostrich is no magic solution. That being said, I don't mind having an extra folding lounge with a removable head pillow. The color is pretty, it feels solid, and the carrying strap is very useful.

Very nice and comfortable, after trying it I bought another one

It came with a colored instruction sheet that says, “Open the chaise legs fully to the red line,” and they even helpfully marked the red line with a marker. To adjust the backrest, you have to close it all the way first, then open it again to the angle you like. The fabric seems easy to clean. It’s sturdy but still light enough for anyone to carry around easily.

I'm 5 foot 4 and found the bed just the wrong length if you want to use head hole. Uncomfortable on feet/ shins with bottom bar. Also its narrow as a bed which it doesn't need to be with arm holes. It's good but not perfect so for the price I was a bit disappointed
