best in category, and works well in specific scenarios
Nothing works well when it comes to neck air conditioners. The perfect neck air conditioner has not been invented yet. HOWEVER, MY RATING IS BASED ON WHAT IT CAN DO IN SPECIFIC SCENARIOS, NOT ON WHAT IT CANNOT DO. My 5-star rating is also about comparison. I've purchased every neck air conditioner model—no joke—I am serious about finding a way to get cooler. I have done my research, watched every YouTube video, and read hundreds of reviews. If I rate this based on the comparison of other products on the market, it is the best out there in the neck air conditioner category. But none of them will keep you cool on a hot summer day outside. Your expectations need to be realistic. Comparing the two high-end ones, the Torras beats out the ranvoo. Torras keeps you cooler than the ranvoo, but neither are a true air conditioner. My five stars is based on being the best in the neck air conditioner category, not being the perfect product. In my opinion, None of the products on the market keep you cool outdoors on a hot summer day. They all fail, and that is why I am writing my recco and giving my stars based on what it can do. If I rated it based on my total experience, it would be lower, but it does help in specific scenarios, and so I want my review to help people like me, who may need to find ways to be cooler all the time, not just outside. I find this product super helpful to be cooler when indoors. And it works great in scenarios where everyone else is always comfortable, but you are running hot. It will help you become cooler and more comfortable when no one is hot but you. If you are a person who is always hot, like a peri-menopausal woman, or just someone who always runs warn, this product is for you; it will help keep you cooler in normal conditions. For example, when shopping in an air-conditioned store, everyone else is comfortable, but you are not, and this gives just the added boost you need to feel normal. Or if you are in an air-conditioned home but it's not cool enough, this is great for those times when most people are fine or freezing but you still need it cooler. This is great for when you are having a hot flash and need a quick burst of cold plates on your neck. When I am working at my desk, and the sunshine is beating in, it helps keep me cool without having to shut the shades while I am working. I hope this will help people who need help deciding whether to purchase. This COOLIFY is an excellent product for these scenarios. A true neck air conditioner has not been invented yet; this is not there yet, and I can’t wait for this company or any company to invent one that works well outdoors!

Battery Performance Report: Read this Review
Purchased for a trip to hot and humid Orlando. This review is BEFORE the trip - in a 74F, 20% humidity room Initial comments: The device looks and feels very rugged. It had better, for a $280 unit. Even so, I think a fall from your neck onto concrete could do enough damage to make it stop working. Pairing with the app was super easy on iOS. Controls through app are very good. People complain about the battery life - and I agree. It is bad. BUT there is a pretty simple way to get a SIX HOUR cooling session with max cooling. Read on... I talk about the tests I ran later. If you don't want to read that, here is the summary: - To preserve the life of your Coolify batteries, try to keep the charge between 20% and 80%. Lithium batteries don't like to go outside that range. - Coolify can run at maximum fan and cool for about 75 minutes using its built-in batteries. After that (when the battery gets low), Coolify stops cooling and just lets the fans blow air. That is a pretty bad cooling span. - BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS: If you have a 20W charger, Coolify charges at about the same rate as it consumes energy at max speed. This means that if you have a 20W charging pack connected while using Coolify, you can use it pretty much until the charger battery is depleted, and then about 60 minutes after that when the Coolify battery kicks in. - So if you have, say, a 20000mA 20W charging device connected, you can run Coolify at 100% for approximately SIX HOURS until the charger is depleted, and then maybe another hour on the Coolify battery. And COLD will work during that entire time. The Coolify comes with a long enough USB-C cable so that you can keep the charger in your backpack or pocket. - I recommend the Anker Zolo 20000mA battery pack. It is small, lightweight, and only costs $30. Anker brand has not let me down. They also have a 10000mA version for $20 that is even smaller and lighter. These Anker chargers also DO NOT get hot. Other brands do. - A 10000mA charger can sit in your pocket pretty comfortably. If you can handle the discomfort of something around your neck for many hours, you can certainly tolerate a small charger in a pocket. - A 20000mA charger is better suited for a backpack or fanny pack. With that summary aside, here is something interesting: I thought the Coolify was a straight Peltier cooler (i.e. not an efficient device at all), but the specs call out R-410A REFRIGERANT. Personally, I am not buying the claim that this tiny device has refrigerant inside of it, along with a compressor and evaporator. Without those, you don't truly have an A/C. Nor do I think having a refrigerant under pressure in the vicinity of your neck is safe. So I am calling B.S. If this is somehow a real micro A/C unit, then they have truly invented something cool (pun intended). Now for the battery tests: Test #1: Run cool mode with max fan continuously and report battery % every 30 minutes. NOT connected to a charger - just running as anyone would expect to use it. Results: 0 min, 100% / 30 min, 68% / 60 min, 40% / 90 min, 12% I stopped the test after 90 min, as running Lithium to 0% is not healthy for the battery. The plates were definitely NOT cold at the end of the test compared to the start. So I think there comes a point where Coolify goes into a "low battery" mode and turns off cooling, leaving the fans running. Test #2: Charge Coolify, reporting charge level every 30 minutes. Also report how much my charging device depletes along the way. Coolify claims it supports 20W charging, so I am using a brand new Anker Zolo, 20000mA charger ($30). I am using the charger's built-in USB-C cable, rated for 20W. Fantastic price for an Anker 20000mA charger! Results: Coolify: 0 min, 10% / 30 min, 44% / 60 min, 72% / 90 min, 91% Anker: 0 min, 100% / 30 min, 89% / 60 min, 81% / 90 min, 72% Battery in the Coolify is 6000mA, and my Anker battery is 20000mA, so it makes sense that Anker is around 70% after charging the Coolify. Based on first two tests, the charge curve of the Coolify is very similar to the discharge curve. After 90 minutes at full speed, Coolify went from 100% to about 12% After 90 minutes of 20W charging, Coolify went from about 10% to about 91% So theoretically, if the charger was connected to the Coolify while Coolify was operating at full speed, the Coolify battery would not drain much at all; main drain would be on the charging device battery. So test #3 sets out to see if this is true. Test #3: Run cool mode with max fan again, BUT keep Anker 20000mA charger connected. Again, to get maximum use, needs to be connected to a 20W charger, or the charger cannot keep up. Results: Coolify: 0 min, 94% / 30 min, 94% / 60 min, 94% / 90 min, 94% / 120 min, 94% Anker: 0 min, 69% / 30 min, 62% / 60 min, 55% / 90 min, 49% / 120 min, 43% Most importantly, the Coolify plates stayed COLD during this test. I didn't run the test longer, but you can see that eventually the Anker battery would deplete and the Coolify battery would take over. Doing the math, a 20000mA 20W charger would run about 6 hours and a 10000mA 20W charger would run about 3 hours. So, this is a $270 cooler that only cools for an hour with its miserable battery. But adding a $30 external battery to it makes the cooling last SIX HOURS. That suddenly makes it a pretty good deal. Could a cheaper cooler do this? Probably in terms of the battery. But this one has more cooling surfaces, more fans, and stronger fans. So based on that, I think this is a great buy if you are gong on a trip to a very hot area. The one thing I am REALLY concerned about is the rain and sweat. How will it affect the cooler over time? If I remember, I will follow up.

The coolest Coolify!
First off, let me say I work at a metals factory that is NOT climate controlled, so temperatures get dangerously hot in the summertime. Having cooling devices are a must, not only for safety, but just to be productive, because who wants to work in hot, humid weather? I choose the Coolify line of products from Torras Life to help me stay (relatively) cool in the summer. I own two other Coolify products, the Coolify 2 and Coolify 2S. The Coolify Cyber, although the most expensive model, does offer the best cooling of the 3 models. It also provides the most airflow. It is bulkier and a little heavier, and isn't as flexible as the other 2 models, but that's not to say it's uncomfortable - it's just a little more noticeable when wearing it versus the others. The extra cooling does come with a downside - it consumes more battery power, but luckily it has a bigger battery to offset the extra power consumption. So in my tests, it still gets about 3 hours of battery life at max cooling. But here's a tip: don't run it at max power, and here's why. The heat generated from the cooling plates has to go somewhere - in the case of the Cyber, that's the back of the unit. When running it at 100% for extended periods, the exhaust heat becomes noticable. Running it at roughly 70% still offers enough cooling to stay comfortable without the excessive exhaust heat. And as a bonus, you get longer runtime... I got around 4 hours at 70%. Although 3-4 hours of runtime isn't GREAT, as most people would agree that any battery powered device could have better runtime before needing recharged, the good news with the Coolify Cyber is it charges fairly quickly, but can also be charged while using - so if you have a power bank, you can easily keep it running longer. The noise level of the Cyber does not bother me at all, but that's subjective, so your opinion may vary. The Cyber has a high quality build, and has endured the extreme heat at work. It also pairs with their app, so you can more precisely control the cooling and heating intensity (yes it also offers heat for the winter or to help relax your aching neck muscles!), and fan speeds. Instead of just low, medium, and high, the app allows you to choose anywhere from 0-100%. It also offers AI Modes that adjust the output automatically based on the mode chosen. I will say, if you're looking for a cooling device for the outdoors, where there's plenty of airflow, not a hot, stuffy factory, one of the other Coolify products will probably be good enough, and easier on your wallet. But if staying cool is your priority, the Cyber is the way to go.

Works as advertised
I work for the post office as a letter carrier in Texas, and the summers here are absolutely BRUTAL. Ive heard good things about neck cooling fans from friends so I did my homework. After I read the features on this model, specifically the COOLING features, and watching some product review videos with some competitors, I didn't hesitate to make the purchase. After the product arrived, I did a quick read through of the manual. Very easy to understand, interface is very straightforward. I've opted to not use the app at this time however, I see no reason for an app to need location information permission, especially in this context, which is unfortunate; there's an auto feature that's advertised to control temperatures based on various parameters. I suppose this was in response to the competitor, the ranvoo aice 3 having an "ai" feature that did something similar. I'm not sure from a technical standpoint how the hardware adjusts settings, that part seemed murky. Since it's just so hot outside for me anyway, not having the auto feature available without using the app isn't a deal breaker, I just set the cooler settings to max manually. Functionally, if you're wondering if this product actually "cools" then, yes, absolutely it does. When your outside in dramatic heat, youre clothes, hat, etc still feel hot, but that dramatic build up of intense body heat is dramatically reduced. For those who work outside for a living, you know that point when your body is just heat soaked and you need to stop and take a break somewhere cool, this product definitely helps your body maintain normal temperatures. When you get into a vehicle or building that has ac, this neck cooler will have a NOTICEABLE impact on how fast you recover. (You're still going to get hot, but it does help.) This thing is also pretty tight around your neck, but it does a good job of staying in place where you want it. Youre either adjusting it more for casual wearing comfort, or you might wear it in a more restrictive manner to get the cooling plates and the fans exactly where you can appreciate them more on a very hot day. If you have considerably large diameter neck, the fitment may bother you, and you might want to consider the larger Ranvoo. As far as recommendations, Id like Torras to consider coming out with with some kind of washable fabric liner. Obviously you want this to be as close to your skin as possible to appreciate the cooling effect, but where the cooling plates are in the inside collar, it's just smooth plastic, and it's in direct contact with your skin and there's no airflow for your skin to breath. Maybe in future iterations Torras can find a way to implement airflow so you don't feel like this thing is sticking to your neck but benefit from the cooling still. I haven't tested any other products in this category, overall, I say it does it's job well. I don't like the feeling it's sticking to your neck and I wonder if there's other products that have stronger fans (I almost have to wear it in such a way its hugging the bottom of my jaw to appreciate airflow to my ears where I'd prefer to have air to) but again, this is the context that you're outside in extreme heat anyway, with cooler temperatures you'll notice a nice, comfortable breeze surround your neck, face. If you're a professional working outside, hiking, doing yardwork in the summer, taking kids to an outdoor event all day, running errands and getting in and out of a hot vehicle constantly, this is a game changer, and you'll want to integrate this into your lifestyle. Especially with heat records constantly being broken. That being said, if it's a moderate to nice day out and you just want to use the fan, you'll have a long run time for all day use. Not many products in this category have a cooling feature and that comes at a price. You will want a power bank.. You'll get two hours on max settings, tops. I hope Torras continues to innovate in this space and approach it with the mindset that this is truly a wellness device. I doubt any other product in this category would hold up as well.

I hate this
Is mine broken? I keep getting ads now for how it's a portable A/C with icy cold air and I call shenanigans!!! 1). This never gave anything but air and a hint of a neck cooling on the plates which could have just been the feel of the metal or my imagination. It was such a non-existent fleeting sensation. Again, almost like a hint of cold- even when inside with 75°F temperature It was not icy or cool or anything worth wearing. I could have got cooler from just letting neck sweat, evaporate and cool. One $5 cool scarf would have put this whole device to shame. 2) I didn't like their app, compared to the product support they have on their neck belt, this one is clunky the way they show you how to use it and the app itself is not worth it and it tracks your location. Who needs that? It didn't even have directions in English. It only had directions in one other language in the app. Why you need a separate whole app to just change which fan is blowing? Seems ridiculous. The app had several problems. It wouldn't allow me to create a login account, It would ask you for a password, a username and then send a code to your phone which then it locked up. I tried three different times and it took 35 minutes to resend each code that expires in less than a minute (!!) and doesn't work. That too was frustrating. I was never successful at creating an account and so I finally chose skip and just then saw the app and was very disappointed. 3) I cycled through all the options and I didn't see much change except which fan was blowing. It never got cool - let alone icy cold. Forget that idea. Again, is mine broken? Is it just a crappy fake product? I read all the reviews carefully and I want to explain that I use this in Phoenix, Arizona on an extremely cool, very windy spring day temp of 80°F to 83° Fahrenheit 26 or 27° C. The afternoon wind that was intermittently blowing was four times colder and cooler than what I was working with on the neck fan or the belt fan which I got both. This would never survive the 120° F heat ever. It would be a monstrosity to wear this and again you could just pack a cool scarf or two and you'd be in better shape than with this device. I'm glad we had a cool down here and I didn't try to use this with the real summer heat or it would have been the opposite of helpful. 4) It lasted approximately an hour on a full charge. 5) The ad stated that if you bought two devices you could save $60 to $80 but it was never clear where you would get this discount. I reached out to the company and a week plus later I got no response. I also tried with Amazon giving me a ticket, escalating the question how to get the discount that's shown on the listing and promising 24-hour escalation response but even a week later still no response. I tried again yesterday when I finally ordered it without the code and Amazon support told me to just don't worry they would fix it but they haven't fixed it. Still it's been 24 hours and they made me talk to over six different agents, ignored the initial ticket number that they gave me a week and a half ago, made me call in in the middle of the chat for no reason and then gave me another person to start over with - this was the worst buying experience that I've ever had on Amazon hands down. I still don't have the discount. I think that this should be advertised as a cooling fan. Nothing that says AC or icy cold air because it's just the same as if I put a little fan on my neck. 6) It has an intermittent buzzing staticky sound that comes on and off for minutes at a time, and if you are an audiophile, will not be fun. You will struggle to hear your music over this weird buzzing sound in addition to the fan noise. 7) I rarely get headaches and go years without headaches and this gave me a headache. Not just the whole experience and actual headache from the device that I made sure wasn't dehydration or anything because it went away after I took it off for a few minutes and then I hydrated 30 minutes later so it was definitely the device.

The good, the bad, and the chilly.
I’ve had this for a little over a year now and let me just preface this with the fact that I live in Florida so even your typical compression cycle air conditioners have trouble keeping you cool during the almost half a year of 1000% Humidity at 110° F. The fan does exactly as advertised, the little metal plates on the inside get cold pretty fast and it kind of feels like wearing an ice pack around your neck. It’s not heavy so you can wear it all day without it being a burden but it does have enough weight and balance to it that I’ve never once had it just fall off my neck or spin around or anything stupid like that. It’s stays exactly in place through running or jumping or any kind of crazy dance you might break out for the hoes. Battery life is okay. I wait tables normally anywhere from 5-6 hour shifts and if I started a full charge running it on full blast I’d make it about halfway through my shift before it died and needed to be charged again BUT it does have the awesome feature of being able to be charged and worn/used at the same time but you specifically need a power bank that lets you use its usb-c port to charge other items. They include a usbc to usbc cable that has one side at a 90° angle to make it easy while you wear it. Here’s where it loses me a bit, the fan itself isn’t that strong at full blast which is a bit of a letdown considering that fans that loud are usually pushing a lot more air so the noise level is really high during use. The thing I’m most upset about is that one of the three metal cooling pads all of a sudden quit working entirely. It’s never been dropped on the ground, never gotten wet aside from the sweat on my neck it’s designed to come into contact with, and when not in use I’ve always stored it in its case, never left it in a hot car or any sort of environment that would cause it to fail prematurely like this. I’d probably still give it 5 stars had it not been for that.

Great company, good product, be realistic.
So after taking some time to really run the 2S through it's paces, I've come to conclude that it truly is a useful product and Torras' Coolify line is absolutely the best brand of this type you're going to get within a "home user" product. The next step would be industrial grade cooling solutions that would not be nearly as mobile and certainly not as affordable. The quality of the manufacturing leaves me with the impression of a solidly built unit. There are no blemishes, scrapes or rough edges on any of the plastic. It also feels solidly built and leaves one with an impression of quality. I will say that the device really does serve a purpose and I have measured it's effects during a "Same for Same" test while using my smart watch to track heart rate. On a 70F day with the same physical load and no Coolify, I have to really almost jog or hit a full march with my full 45 pound work kit to hit 130 BPM, I'm decently fit. In summer without the coolify I can easily hit 160-180 BPM in 98F on the same task. Comparatively on the same task and same temperature with the coolify, I can keep my heart rate to a maximum of 140-145. Additionally, I begin to cool down MUCH faster while wearing the device. So even when it feels as if it does nothing, It's pouring it's little heart out to conduct that heat away from you. Normally I would be pouring water from my hydration reservoir to cool off. The 2S has decent battery life when you consider the amount of power this thing draws. The big seller here is that the 2S was the first device they produced with the ability to charge while using it! For the time being, I have been using external power banks via 90 degree usb-C at the device connection to actively power it during my work day in construction. I wear the external power bank on my belt with the 90 degree usb-c run under my shirt, be safe and don't let that cable get caught up! A 20,000Mah power bank is MORE than enough to power this through your day AND charge your phone, etc. Torras and their Coolify line are really trying to step up the game with what's currently possible with today's and even tomorrow's technology. I know it isn't easy to engineer something like this but I am a firm believer that they will continue to try to push the envelope in this category. Good news! I have been in touch with Torras and they are committed to their customers and their REAL needs. They are potentially interested in implementing wearable battery technology for their coolers! This mean that they can push the limits even further! I was impressed by their concern for my experience. In my opinion Torras will continue to advance in this field. To Torras, take care of May and your customer service people. Pleasant experience all around!

Good for daily commute when outdoors. Does not last.
Final Update 30/10/2025 - 1 year 5 months. The side cooling plates no longer work except for the fans, and the speed/mode LED panel on the right side no longer lights up. I will not recommend this product at this price point as it does not last. Update 3 - After 2.5 months (3 weeks, plus replacement unit 7 weeks). Replacement has worked very well without any issues. Almost two full charge cycles per day for entire work week without signs of battery life deterioration. Update 2 - After 1 month. Unit died at the end of week 3, unable to charge nor even power up via powerbank bypass. Got a replacement unit under warranty. Warranty claims experience in last paragraph of review. Will update again at end of month 2 (replacement + 1 month). Update 1 - After 1 week usage. Formatting edit. Added some performance experience and internal design details that are not obvious at first glance. Part 1 - for new users I primarily bought the Coolify Cyber for use in my daily commute to and from work. It is very effective in still keeping me cool during the extended portions of my commute when outdoors in the sweltering tropical heat (in Singapore). Its cooling effectiveness is limited if you are directly under the sun without any shade as the Cyber only keeps the neck and lower part of your head cool. For maximum coolness, you need to tuck the lower back lip UNDER the shirt collar instead of following the ads where it is worn over. Part 2 - Comparison with the Coolify 3 From here, refer to my comparison pictures, Cyber is on top, 3 is at the bottom. They are of similar shape, however the Cyber claims to have improved QC and is better able to withstand sweat (as proudly advertised in Torras promotional material), I sweat a lot and this is a major concern of mine; had a poor experience with the model 3, all were charging problems eventually leading to overheating and dead batteries, other users have also shared feedback that their model 3 malfunctioned after sweating during usage. Therefore, my expectations for the Cyber are very high. Appearance wise there has been improvements to the indicators for charging and fan speed/strength and are easier to read now - fan speed/strength indicators are enlarged and in numerical values, charging indicator is in circular quadrants instead of the older horizontal bar. The intake vent holes for the fans have been enlarged for better airflow, and the Torras care team has indicated to me that there are now 29 fan blades total (up from 26 of the model 3). The finish, while still glossy has a gunmetal grey colour, whereas the cascade black of the 3 looks more reflective and mirror-like. The graphene cooling plates now have a very faint honeycomb pattern printed on it, not sure if it improves the cooling performance but... plus one point for looking cool. The cooling is more consistent as compared with the 3; the model 3 had occasions where the cooling plate struggled to reach maximum coolness whereas the Cyber always feels cold in cooling mode. Bluetooth performance is consistent, never experienced droupouts when using the app. Then again, the model 3 was ok for me in this regard (I did update the firmware before first use though) The Cyber now also has an automatic adjustment function that tweaks the cooling output based on the surrounding temperature. The changes happen in real time with a response speed of a few seconds. In practice I could hear the fans slow down when I'm in indoors and on public transport when it's air-conditioned (25 - 28°C) and the fans ramp up to full speed once I'm outdoors (30°C and up). It can be a little annoying when it repeatedly ramps up and down whilst walking from location to location, and if you're not on ear/headphones, but it is imperceptible to outsiders in the public. The cooling plate stays at the same intensity throughout. If you already have the model 3 and it is still functional, the improvements to the Cyber don't justify the extra expenditure. However, if you are coming from the 2S or earlier models, CHOOSE THE CYBER. Part 3 - Warranty claims experience Encountered delay to reach the warranty fulfilment team - I had been in regular contact with the Torras care team which became unresponsive, eventually directly emailed the warranty team at [email protected]. Minus 2 points for miscomm. Warranty fulfilment team successfully performed service recovery and walked me through to receive my replacement unit. Plus 1 point. International customers take note, due to "Fulfilled by Amazon" limitations you will have to pay shipping for your replacements under warranty. USA based shoppers are not affected by this.

Best device of it’s kind! Life changer to me!
This marvel of technology is a game changer for my comfort at work and while traveling on a daily basis! I am someone that is forever hot and hating the Summer for it. Having multiple sclerosis doesn’t help by greatly impairing my body’s ability to regulate my temperature, meaning that variations in heat, even quite moderate, are extremely uncomfortable to me and severely impact my quality of life, making me extremely weak and sometimes even confused. This wonderful gadget allows me to stay cool much easier and I am now able to consider again going out with friends during Summer and being much more comfortable at work when it gets hot (to me at least!). Even dared doing a bit of sports again with my partner while wearing it, big game changer for me! And yes it stays quite well in place, even with badminton! The only inconvenience to me is that the battery doesn’t last as long as I would wish but then again I ALWAYS use its AC function and not just the basic ventilation so it is a lot more draining on the poor thing. I would say a full recharge with AC at minimum lasts about 120-150 minutes. If I work on the computer I just connect it to the computer’s charging port and I have unlimited power so that is fantastic! Big game changer for me and my overall quality of life, one of the best purchases I ever did! Would immediately buy another one anew if lost/broken with ZERO hesitation, even considering the significant price tag!
