We have found Lavazza Rossa produces a good cup of coffee in our beans to cup machine so we stick to what we know. We get through about a kilo of beans every three weeks or so, and so this gives two to three month's supply at a very reasonable price - much better than supermarkets, even on special offer. I could go on about the taste, with hints of chocolate, vanilla and blackberry and all that stuff, but, to be honest, it just tastes of coffee, which is really all we look for - good, old fashioned coffee with a bit of body and lots of flavour. Everyone has their favourite bean and this is ours. It all comes down to taste and we are happy with both Lavazza Rossa and the price.

Good price and seems pretty fresh. Probably from a reasonably fast turnover of sales. Comes in a handy 250g x 4 which is preferable to a large bag of 1kg beans. It makes strong cup and be careful not to over extract as you'll have a bitter cup of coffee. Personally, I prefer lighter tasting and more fragrant 100% arabica beans so may not be buying this in the future. This one is a blend of Arabica(40%) and Robusta (60%) beans which really gives the coffee body and strength,

Great price, taste and smoothness. I’ve tried other Lavazza beans but for flavour at a good price my family prefer this bean. I like grinding my own beans to an espresso powder and love the freshness this gives you, like on the high street but a tenth of the price.

Lavazza ist ein Klassiker für die italienischen Bialetti-Mokka-Kännchen und natürlich Siebträgermaschinen. Die Qualita Rossa ist allerdings ein wahrer Allrounder, der sich auch in der French Press (und zur Not sogar im Kaffeefilter - hey, besser als kein Koffein!) sehr wacker schlägt. Im Vergleich mit der Standard-Sorte, die in den meisten größeren Supermärkten erhältlich ist, schmeckt der rote meiner Ansicht nach etwas robuster und enthält weniger Bitterstoffe. Ich finde ihn sehr bekömmlich, aber das empfinden Kaffeetrinker bekanntlich als sehr individuell. Für mich eine der besten italienischen Mainstream-Sorten. Illy find ich noch besser, aber erstens ist mir der Kilopreis hier zu hoch und zweitens wüsste ich nicht, was ich mit 100ern Viertel-Kilo Metalldosen anfangen soll. ) Update: Bei der letzten Lieferung fand ich im zweiten Päckchen bedauerlicherweise eine Bohne mit abesplitterter Ecke.
