Suitable for Congo African Grey or Amazon
This cage is perfect for my Congo African Grey - nearly the recommended cage size. Heavy-duty construction - my bird has destroyed two lighter cages from this brand. Prevue Pet Products Flight Cage Models F085 and F040 are a nice size and good price, but a Grey will wreck them in two years. If you have a Grey or Amazon, spend the extra money and get this model. “Buy once, cry once.” Needs a bit of finesse for one person to assemble - I used a 6 ft. ladder and string to hold the front panel up when I worked on the back. Instructions could be better with larger illustrations - pay careful attention to steps 2A and 2C. On my first run, I put the front and back panels upside-down, which absolutely didn’t work. Make sure the door hinges are on the right, and the other panels have thick vertical wires facing the exterior. Left and right sides are interchangeable, so cups for food and water won’t be over a floor heating vent where my cage will go. Test-fit the big cups on the inside to make sure you don’t install that panel upside-down, like I did. The top perch makes my boy feel free and happy. Then he goes inside. I didn’t put on the seed guards - don’t have the room for them. A few corners and bars were bent, but repairable with a heavy-duty needle nose pliers and hammer. One tray had a dent, but it’s only cosmetic. Top and bottom trays are interchangeable, so I put the dented one on the bottom, where it’s less noticeable.

African Grey worthy!
I bought the 36x24x66 (black hammertone) cage for my African grey! She is adopted and came with an ENORMOUS cage that forced me to take doors off hinges in order to take it outside for cleaning :( This was extremely impractical, so I started the hunt for a new cage. After much research and even more measuring, I decided to give this one a shot! It had to be big enough for her to feel comfortable, but thin enough to fit through my doors without having to remove them. This one is PERFECT! She has plenty of room if she has to stay in it (she comes and goes at will —visits her flock mates)!!! As far as the assembly goes, the instructions are not the greatest. However, I have put together cages before, so it wasn’t too terribly difficult. I am a 5’1” female and I put the thing together by myself in a little over an hour (I am a bit of a DIYer, though). All in all, I think this is an excellent product! The size and price point fit the bill and I think that once my Grey gets settled in, she will love her new cage. Her cockatiel pal has already decided that he LOVES it and had moved in ;) *The included pics show both the Grey and the ‘Tiel in it. I have my cages on a table (birds like to be high), so the play perch touches the ceiling, rendering it unusable.

Really nice cage
I was nervous ordering bc of all the horror stories of things not lining up, etc. This turns out to be a really nice cage. The usual rules apply to setup - you need to work things a little in some areas (ie. leave bolts a little loose until ready to tighten down, twist, gentle pressure, etc) when assembling but I was able to do the assembly by myself (and with "help" from a pre-schooler) in less than an hour. Quality seems really good. The lower tray had a bad dent in it from shipping and does not slide in, however I contacted the company (support number provided) and they were very responsive. Called me back within 10 minutes and hopefully have a damaged part replacement out soon. Top and bottom trays are interchangeable. Bringing our featherbaby (a Quaker parrot) home in a week or so and will update if he thinks differently, but I think he's really going to enjoy the space and playtop. As of now, highly recommend for medium to large birds. UPDATE: still highly recommend. Cage has held up really well to parrot abuse, easily wipes clean, rolls around the house very easily, and Prevue was great to work with. Would definitely buy from them again.

Wonderful Cage!
This is an amazing cage for the price. I have spent much more on my other cages and they are smaller and not as good. First, this cage is a great size. Plenty of room for my Goffin's Cockatoo to play. Then, the door locks are perfect for a smart and curious birdie. There are two different mechanisms to keep the main door closed and the main one is spring loaded and cannot be reached with a beak. The food door latches also cannot be reached from inside. The wire gauge and spacing is wonderfully safe for a medium sized bird. Finally, it was very easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I love this cage so much I bought another from the same brand for my other birdie.

Good cage if undamaged
Nice cage but hard to assemble and has internal bent parts that can’t be replaced without initiating a return. Meaning of hidden damage you have to disassemble and repackage to return after HOURS of assembly. Bent pan. I had to fabricate one myself.

Really good value!
It wasn’t too difficult to assemble! At one point we needed a couple of people to hold things together for assembly, but it didn’t take long. We had it built in less than an hour. I am using it for my adopted 10 y/o Moluccan Cockatoo and she enjoys it enough to go in it without any issues, and chooses to do so on her own. In an ideal world I would have a larger cage for her, but we lack the room to accommodate a really large cage at the moment. This is sufficient because she spends most of her time outside of the cage. I think this cage would be ideal for smaller cockatoos, amazons, and similar sized medium parrots. The bar spacing is too large for anything smaller like conures, cockatiels, and lovebirds- in my opinion- I would get a more narrow spacing. We lost a finch immediately after setup because he flew in it and got his head stuck, and was injured before I was able to dislodge him. He died due to that. So if you have smaller birds; be sure to supervise them and keep them out of this cage. I like that all of the parts that need the most cleaning slide out easily. It is sturdy and since my girl can’t fly, i will roll her around so she can see me. No issues rolling over rugs or into other rooms. My only minor cons: The cage comes with 4 bowls. 2 large and 2 smaller. The large bowls do not fit into the cage slots, and the smaller bowls are more ideal for food. The large bowls are very awkward for feeding on the perch, i prefer to use the smaller ones so food is easier to reach. I still use a large bowl in the small slot in the cage with water, but it does not fit snugly. She hasn’t knocked it out yet, though. The seed catcher is a little loose and wiggly so it can’t be pushed with that or it slides around. I wish it came with an extra perch so they could be alternated when one is being cleaned and dried. The cage door stopper is a little annoying, it would be much better if it wasn’t always in the way, and could be moved manually to lock the door. I would also like to see the food dish doors have a more secure lock. Luckily our bird is very calm, doesn’t fly, and doesn’t need a lot of room because she spends most of her time out of the cage. She isn’t destructive but I believe a Macaw or Umbrella that like to get into trouble could easily break out of this cage.

Exceeded expectations
I wasn't expecting a lot from this cage, given the price and that it had to be assembled. I was expecting something much flimsier, with ill-fitting connections. I was pleasantly surprised. It is heavy enough that a large bird would have difficulty bending the bars (if they were able to at all). It fits together nicely, is easy to operate once you figure out the door latches for the main door and the food and water trays, and wasn't too difficult to assemble. The biggest problem was poor instructions - you could figure out more looking at the picture on Amazon and the Prevue page. I am very pleased with the assembled product, though, and expect to use it for a long time. Like many other reviewers, my cage arrived with damage to the sheet metal waste tray. I followed the instructions inside and emailed photos of the damaged part, bar code, and description on the box, along with the Amazon invoice, to Prevue. They replaced the tray, and even sent some toys for my bird as well. Over all, very pleased with the cage and the company.

Bought this for my Green Cheek Conure. Very nice construction, I put it together by myself without much trouble. My only complaint would be that on one side the bars under the grill were a little bent so that it wasn't safe to omit the grill (if you know what I mean), working on bending them back so that I can leave the grill off though. All in all I love it, 5 stars.

Only got half the cage
So this was really disappointing, only received half the cage, the playtop part. When I contacted amazon they could not get me the other half but did get a refund! Sucked.
