I'll admit for years I did not use a proper shave cream - but in my defense, when you have sensitive skin and fragrance sensitivities, shaving is already hard enough with various moisturizing strips irritating skin, let alone figuring out what razor lubricant doesn't add to the issues - so I used conditioner or body wash or whatever for years. But I recently switched to a double edge safety razor instead of disposables which meant I needed to properly lubricate my skin for shaving. This was one of the few actually fragrance free and sensitive skin friendly and non-aerosol products I could find that seemed like it would actually work. And it does indeed work well. Little to no cuts on my skin since I started using this, even with a non-pivoting head razor. It provides a really nice glide and doesn't irritate my skin at all. When I first used it I found I was wasting a fair bit of product by applying with my hands (either too little or too much was coming out) and it was hard to rinse off completely/made shaving more difficult from slippery hands. Ladies, I'm so for real here - use a shave bowl and brush. Yes really. Yes, even in the shower. I put a tiny bit in a bowl with ridges in the bottom, add a tiny bit of water, and then whip it up with a shave brush - it makes a little bit of product go way further and makes a really nice lather, and is now so easy to apply to the area I'm actively shaving without worrying about the water rinsing the cream off. Plus my hands aren't slippery. Highly recommend.
