This unit did what I wanted it to do. I was added an attic access in my garage ceiling.There were predrilled holes on the ends for installation, but none on the long sides. I added some there, and screwed it into the joist, so add some rigidity. I also added 2x12 between the joist, for the short ends to screw into, and strength for someone climbing into the attic space.The “lock” can be used with just a screwdriver. The latch is not very long, I hope it doesn’t vibrate loose over time.Otherwise the project turn out fairly well.

The first one I received had two bent corners and was missing a hinge pin. Notified Amazon and they were right on top of shipping out a replacement. We re-did our bathroom and installed a new tub. There wasn't any access door and the plumber needed one so this is the route we went. Nice quality, metal door. It looks like it has a locking feature, but it doesn't. A screwdriver will open it. I prefer it that way, just one less key to lose. Easy to install. Just do your measurements. I cut slots into the studs so the reinforcement iron could slide right into the slots. Used adhesive chaulking, laid down a nice line on the perimeter and in the slots. Set the door in place, put some pressure against it and waited for it to set.

Arrived in perfect condition. This door uses a screwdriver slot to open and close, so there is no key by design which is much more convenient, but not secure if you don't want people getting in there. But overall, a very nice door.

Arrived well packaged, but with one bent corner, included key and six drywall screws. It appears it was packaged with bent corner!? Packaging was NOT damaged. Well made, fit and installed easily. Bent corner was easily unbent!

Perfect fit for garage ceiling access to upstairs plumbing . easy to install, used two pieces of wood 1x1x12” to attach each end of panel on top of sheet rock & 4- 1” self tapping wood screws. Small thin blade screw driver turns latch.FYI - no directions & no key & no hardware incuded

No instructions, came bent on the corner, no key to open or close it, and no screws to put it into place.

The product is solid once you install it securely to the wall. Beforehand because it is slightly thin sheet metal it may appear slightly flimsy, but it isn't. And even better, the lock being operated by screwdriver instead of a key that can get lost makes it easy to work with later on. The dimensions are just right for an average-sized man to squeeze through. Not a large opening that may stand out from the wall, but just enough to make it easier to access items.

Added access to hidden storage under stairs. Wanted it made from metal for sturdiness.
