Kitsch Castor Oil Shampoo Bar & Coconut Oil Conditioner Bar – 2pc set

I appreciate honest reviews. I'm the type of person who spends hours reading reviews before I bite the bullet and make the purchase. Like most people, I have seen this brand all over social media, but I dont trust "influencers" all the time, so I like to read unbiased reviews. So, here goes mine... I am a 40-something year old, color treated, 80% naturally and wirey gray, mid length, thick haired woman. The most concerning reviews of this product, to me, were the ones about people losing their hair. Second most concerning to me, the short lived bar life. As far as people losing hair... I know I'm going to get some people upset over this, and my opinion doesnt have to apply to everyone; however, I feel that if you are losing hair, there is a chance you are not using these correctly. There is no need to be rough. Simply paint your hair with the bar (I hope that makes sense). You dont need to lather it to death. You dont need a lot of product. You dont have to rub the bar into your hair and scalp. Run the bar over your wet hair, focused mainly up by your scalp, put the bar down (you got this, just put it down) and use your fingers to work it into your scalp. It will lather. Rinse. Thoroughly. Same concept applies with the conditioner bar. Paint it on. Focus on the ends. There should be no lather this time. Rinse. Thoroughly. Now, I am a Herbal Essence teen of the 90's. I like to load the conditioner on and leave it on for at least three minutes; this is drilled into my brain. Dont do that with this. Paint it on. Use your fingers to spread it. Rinse it. All of the above applies to the longevity of the bars, as well. I'll repeat- you dont need a lot of product, a little goes a long way. No need to work it to death. Also, get the bags for them, they do help. Store them properly, allowing them to dry back out. If you use a shared shower, but don't share bars of shampoo, dont store the bars where theyre going to get wet every time someone else showers. If thats a pain, these products may not be for you. As far as how my hair looks and feels.... I chose the Castor Oil shampoo and conditioner. I LOVE it. Love. Its heavy; hence the smoothing. If you have fine, thin hair- this probably isnt the one for you; try the rosemary biotin one. My hair has never felt or looked better and at my age, I dont say that about a lot of things. I have never really been able to air dry my hair because its a frizz fest if I dont blow dry. I dont have to blow dry with this shampoo and conditioner, my hair is smooth and shiny. Lastly, the smell is, ehhh. To me, it doesnt really have much of a smell, which is ok in my book. Its neither pleasant nor unpleasant and it doesnt leave a lingering scent after all is said and done. Ive purchased the rice water shampoo and conditioner bars to rotate between the two. My hair tends to get used to products and then get weighed down by them. I'll update this review once Ive tried those, in addition.

If your reluctant to try bar shampoo conditioner, this is your sign to go for it. I had all the doubts, put it off for a long time but once I finally grew tired of the amount of hair I was losing in the shower - I was at my last resort. The shampoo father's soo soo good without using too much effort. Go for a second wash and you'll thank me. The conditioner left my hair feeling immediately smooth. My hair is past my waist. Without any heat as it air dried I knew, I made a good choice. It smells great. My hair is smooth and shiny without feeling greasy or dull. The best part, I already feel like my hair loss is substantially less and looking forward to all my baby hairs growing back.

I love these bars! The shampoo suds up very nicely compared with other shampoo bars I've used! The smell is great, very soothing! The conditioner bar left my hair very soft and manageable! I have curly hair so I need a good conditioner! I highly recommend. I also bought this to travel in lieu of shampoo bottles that can leak.

I wanted to try these shampoo and conditioner bars for several reasons. I also have some experience in making all natural and organic cold process soap at home, so I was interested in trying these with the idea that I might make some shampoo and conditioner bars for myself, with organic, and all-natural ingredients. But that takes a little more effort, so I decided to order these to try them out. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition so I am very careful about using products that I consider all-natural. Actually, I thought I was already very careful about pure and natural personal care products, as well as diet. The quality and purity of the ingredients is very important to me. Also because of this condition, my hair has been shedding increasingly, so much so, that it is scary sometimes. Possibly due to the condition, and also as a side effect of the medicine that is used to treat it. My hair has a natural wave, and always has been really thick, so I usually like a conditioner that will smooth it down. On my first try, the bars were completely dry, and it took a little getting used to, wetting them to get them to lather up. I liked the pink shampoo bar, which I think was the castor oil, and the yellow conditioner bar, that was also castor oil. They feel good lathering up, and I like the feel of my hair afterwards. I have not tried the brown and white bars, they were the rice water shampoo and conditioner. The scent is very pleasant, and I am not sure if this is a fragrance or oil or an essential oil. As far as I know, I have never had an allergic reaction to an essential oil, although it is possible. I do quite frequently have allergies to perfume though. That is what I wondered, because since I bought these I have been sneezing a lot. Unfortunately, I think I may be allergic to the fragrance used in these bars. I am going to keep shopping for another shampoo or conditioner bar. I like the idea of using Rosemary because I am trying to calm down the scalp and regrow my hair, either with an oil or a tea made from Rosemary. I may end up trying to gather all the ingredients and come up with my own formula. I have even thought of investing in a showerhead filter to remove chlorine, because that could also be affecting my scalp. I really wanted to like these bars, and I think if you are not allergic to the fragrance they are very nice. I will do a little bit more research into the ingredients, as there are so many of these recipes available on YouTube.

Took these on an extended trip because I didn’t want to get stuck with hotel shampoo and liquid restriction for flying meant I couldn’t carry enough for the duration. They worked great. Smell really nice. Hair was healthy. There is enough left for a couple more long trips. The holder was great and I didn’t have any leaks in my suitcase. Highly recommend.

First, 3 stars is because the scent of the product is overwhelming. I ordered the coconut scent. I have used this scent in prior products. Subtle. But this Kitsch bar, shampoo and conditioner, the scent was seriously strong. And it just didn't have a coconut scent, it seemed to have other scents in it. Like lavender maybe. But all I know, it was strong. All day long it is all I could smell, the shampoo. I had to wash my hair when I got home so I didn't have to go to bed with that scent. I have wanted to try this product for awhile. It only takes a few swipes and it suds up quite a bit. I was surprised with this. Same with conditioner. But, I will not buy again due to the over power of the scent. Qhen I walk into my bathroom it is all I can smell. So I put it back in the box. I guess I will throw it away. Unfortunately.

There's 2 shampoo bars and 2 conditioner bar samples. And I chose the castor oil shampoo and the coconut oil conditioner and I saw a difference right away. Its just a small sample bar but this u have to lather shampoo in your hands and apply, otherwise you don't notice much suds. My hair feels clean and soft im happy I tried this. They both smell amazing i will be ordering it

None of them work as well as this does! All you have to do is get it wet, rub between your hands to get it started then rub on your hair and you get a great lather that goes a long way. I put it on a wooden soap dish to help them dry between uses. My hair is really starting to shine with lovely gray hair and I am an ardant fan! The only reason for a 4 star is the size of the bars, they are very small and that makes this very expensive. I wish they would make this work in a bottle! My hair is soft. There is no scalp irritation. I don't have any frizz.

I love the product, especially the conditioner, but it doesn't last as long as it is stated. I didn't think I would need to repurchase this soon. It lathers well, and the clump size is drastically reduced, even though I wash my hair twice at a time. It probably won't last 100 washes.

I ordered a rice water shampoo bar almost a year ago and finally finished it. Hair is so much fuller and healthier, and it’s perfect for traveling. Couldn’t wait to buy another and test out the conditioner. This is the first conditioner bar that actually works!! Love it. But seriously how do they make money when the bars last so long?! They don’t fall apart like all the others..

This is by far the best shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever used for my hair. Over the years, I’ve tried so many different products, but by the next day my hair would always feel greasy again. I’ve never found anything that cleans my hair so thoroughly while also leaving it shiny, soft, and smelling amazing with a beautiful coconut scent. For reference, I have long blonde hair that’s fine but have a lot of it, and with peri-menopause my hair has definitely been changing. This is the first product I’ve found that truly works for me. I honestly won’t use anything else now. It is a little on the expensive side, but it lasts a long time and is absolutely worth it. I would definitely buy it again. Buy it — you won’t be disappointed!

Solo lo he usado cinco veces y el acondicionador se acaba de desmoronar. El champú funciona bien, no lo he estado usando el tiempo suficiente para notar una diferencia en mi cabello. Me encanta el aceite de romero para el tratamiento. Estoy decepcionado, tendré que comprar un nuevo acondicionador en líquido porque la barra simplemente no aguantaba.

The shampoo is really nice, I love it. However,the conditioner seems like fake: it's so crumbly and soft at the same time, it falls apart into pieces whenever I'm using it and after several washes it is now just a soft clump that I'm unable to use. Not sure what went wrong.
