Best Fan I Have Ever Owned plus TALLEST fan I have ever owned
The Ozeri Ultra has made my life so much more comfortable. My central A/C broke and at a cost of 5 to 6k, I cannot afford to replace it. I have been using various mid price oscillating pedestal fans trying to keep cool during this Los Angeles heat wave and they just don't do the job. They don't push the air well, are rather noisy, are too short and the flimsy design makes them wobbly. I had high hopes for the Ozeri Ultra after reading all the great reviews and it has not disappointed. Assembling it was simple and I am NOT usually very good at putting anything together. It is important to make sure the two half circle pieces that form the base snap together properly and are completely flush with the floor, otherwise your fan will wobble. This fan is amazing. It pushes the air well and cools the room even on the lowest setting. It is extremely quiet compared to other fans. I only use it on the oscillating setting and it is sturdy with not even a hint of wobbling. The best part is the remote, especially at night time. No more getting up to turn the fan on or off, higher or lower, etc. The remote works well, no problems with buttons sticking. The timer is a nice feature as well. This fan works so well that even if my central A/C worked, I would choose to use this fan instead to save energy. LOVE it. I cannot comment on durability since I have only had it for a month but if you are worried, you can purchase an extended warranty through Square Trade. 12/16/2014 fan still works great!! 08/18/2015 fan still keeping us cool and working great!! no issues at all. 08/11/2016 still works perfectly. i see they lowered he price by $40. if i needed another one, i would buy it again. 9/17/2017 - RIP Ozeri fan, it died today. I liked this fan so much that I wanted to buy another but Amazon was out of stock. I did a search for tall tower fans and found the Arctic-Pro Fan. Turns out it is EXACTLY the same as Ozeri fan except it is $41 less. Of course I bought that one!! Also bought the Square Trade 3 yr Warranty for just $5. 7/10/2020 Just bought another one. I guess these things only last about 3 years but I think i got my money's worth. Bought the Asurion policy too. I sure hope they are as good as Square Trade.

Great Fan - Surprisingly Quiet
=== SEE UPDATED REVIEW BELOW === We purchased this fan to replace our dying Honeywell tower fan. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was - it's by no means "noiseless" as the item title suggests, but there's very little motor noise, so most of what you hear is just air buffeting and blowing out. The overall volume of the fan is noticeably less than our last fan and the sound is more "white" and tends to blend in with the background. We use the fan in the bedroom at night, so having a nice even white noise is definitely appreciated. Screwing the base together and onto the fan proved to be quite simple and the instructions are not needed. However, I did notice after setting it up the fan would make a very annoying creaking sound when it would reach one side of it's oscillating path. I was afraid I was going to have to send it back, but after inspecting the base, I could see a white electric cable that connected the fan to the oscillator motor (the part the base screws onto). The length of that electric cable is not very forgiving and I guessed that it was being stretched as the fan rotated, thus making the squeaking sound. I tested my theory by rotating the fan base - forcing it past it's normal range of oscillation until I heard a clicking noise. After testing and a few more clicks, the electric cable isn't being stretched anymore and the annoying creaking sound is gone. I'm guessing I had accidentally turned it the opposite direction while installing the base. It's easy to do and doesn't require much force, so it's something to be careful of when setting up the fan. Moderna Housewares sent me an email shortly after the fan arrived to see if I needed any help and if the fan was living up to my expectations. It was a nice gesture to show the company was being proactive about my satisfaction. Overall we're very happy with the noise and air movement of this fan. It feels like it was built a lot better than our previous fan so I'm hoping it will last much longer. === UPDATE === (original review above) After the noise mentioned above didn't go away, I tried contacting Moderna Housewares about return or warranty options. I received no response even after repeated messages through Amazon and via their website. Ozeri's website is terrible and has nothing but a generic phone number and an email address that no one ever seems to check. After continued attempts to contact the seller and the manufacturer with no response, I resorted to taking the fan apart and fixing it myself. A few things I learned that may be useful for a prospective buyer: 1. Keep your warranty card! You may never be able to get the contact information any other way if you need service. 2. The back of the fan is easy to remove (4 phillips screws and a firm yank to pop two small plastic tabs on the sides apart). This is helpful for cleaning out accumulated dust on the impeller. 3. The white cable mentioned above is actually much longer than I thought, but kinks and rubs on the housing. A little reshaping and a quick shot of WD40 fixed it instantly. 4. Do NOT buy from Moderna Housewares! I don't think they're listed as a seller anymore, but just in case. Once I fixed the squeaky cable, the fan has worked perfectly. I'm still very happy with it and glad I got this particular model.

"OZUM" OZERI BLOWS LASKO FIASCO AWAY!!!
The bad reviews I read on this fan are undoubtedly about unit defects. After I purchased this Ozeri, I purchased the Lasko (Amazon best seller) only to highly regret it! This is by FAR better than the Lasko! It's good for a small to mid size room but I'm so confident that I'm investing on a second one for our large master bedroom, where the Lasko has proven to be but a fiasco!!! It's by far the quietest fan we ever had and it blasts wind!!! Yes, it does make some "fan" noise but nothing that disturbs sleep unless one suffers from insomnia or sleep apnea, which disqualifies the quietest of fans period! It's been working well and contrary to other reviews, we have experienced no smells! Actually, I'm extremely sensitive to smells so I can tell there have been no smells added by this unit. If nothing else, it actually helped our son's bedroom smell better! I love the remote control, the room temperature display, and the different "wind modes". I'd wish for less noisy "beeps" as we change settings (both manual and remote control) but that's minor nuisance, which doesn't affect my satisfaction. Ozeri manufacturer could improve the base by giving it a more solid part but so far, we had no trouble with it remaining in place. Aesthetically speaking, this is a very nice looking unit! I haven't noticed major dust accumulation but wish there was an easy way to clean it inside...haven't checked that yet. This Ozeri tower fan absolutely blows away the hideous, poor sad case for a fan that the "best seller" Lasko is. As it turns out, the ION option in the Lasko actually gives out a bad smell when it's supposed to reduce odors. Lasko is a fiasco and Ozeri is OZUM!!! If you get a good unit, you won't regret investing in this tower fan! Keep the box in case you must return defective unit...we've been blessed with getting a good one in the first place. And this one is definitely a keeper!!!

Updated Review of Ozeri Fan
I'm updating my original rating from 1 star to 4. There are several reasons for the change and how I arrived at a 4 star rating from my original 1 star. After using the fan for 2 mo., I'd rate the fan at 3 stars. However the Ozeri customer service was 5 star which brought the average to 4. The fan base needs a stronger and better design but the fan is quiet and the temperature LED is a nice feature. I've used tower fans that moved more air than the Ozeri but they are no longer available at least from what I can determine. I'm using the Ozeri fan in my home office which sits atop carpeting and so far it's worked rather well and hasn't toppled as I initially thought would be the case. Phoenix temperatures make fans a necessity for comfort with or without air conditioning and so far, this fan has functioned quietly and well. If it fails or there are any issues, I will update my review again. Original Review: The Ozeri fan is substandard and in my opinion, rates less than one star for quality in its design and materials used to manufacture the unit. I would however, rate Amazon with five stars in its handling of the pick-up and refund of a grossly overpriced and certainly poorly crafted fan. The corrugated box used to ship the product was better engineered than the fan it contained. The first items removed from the box were two pieces of plastic that according to the instructions, would serve as the pedestal base when snapped together like two Lego building blocks. I've tossed Frisbee's that contained more plastic and substance than the pedestal base designed to support the oscillating fan tower. A consumer shopping for a quiet fan to place atop carpeting such as a bedroom area, should think twice before buying this model and consider stocking the nightstand with bungee cords and duct tape in order to secure the fan and prevent it from toppling when in operation. Similar to the craftsmanship of the base, or lack thereof, the fan tower was molded from thin tissues of composite plastic material that housed moving parts powered by electrical current. I don't recall seeing metal in the fan construction other than the base of the electrical plug. I could not have anticipated the replacement of a tower fan for the bedroom would be as complicated as this experience when my Seville Classics fan failed to oscillate and began shutting off during the night. My first attempt to disassemble my Seville in an effort to diagnose the problem was a failure when I realized the fan housing was constructed of metal and so superior in its engineering that I could not determine the location of the many concealed screws. I declared defeat and sought to buy a new Seville only to discover the big box store where it had been purchased seven years ago no longer carried the item. Driven with a passion to replace my fan before Phoenix temperatures made sleeping without it nearly intolerable, I researched the reviews and opted to purchase the Ozeri from Amazon. When it was delivered it took only a few minutes to recognize it was poorly designed, overpriced, and overrated in the reviews, and most certainly would be returned. I cannot rate the noise level or airflow because the fan could not be assembled due to missing parts that connected the oscillating fan tower to the pedestal base. In my adamant pursuit to find yet another replacement, I located a new model of the Seville on Amazon with only nine remaining in stock and wasted no time in purchasing one which cost barely more than half the price of the Ozeri. I also found a review by a consumer who, like me, initially encountered difficulty in the disassembly of his Seville fan but after mastering the technique provided instructions and what appeared to be the Rosetta Stone for finding the location of the concealed screws. Encouraged by his posting and armed with a new appreciation of the quality craftsmanship and materials used in my seven-years-old fan as compared to what I discovered with the Ozeri, I felt energized and confident as I gleefully retrieved my Seville from the 'metals' recycling dumpster. However, my euphoria was short-lived with the realization that the engineering of the Seville was superior to my ability to disassemble the housing which resulted in abysmal failure evident by six screws that I had removed but for the life of me cannot determine their place in the tower housing. But I'm not yet ready to surrender the fan that served me so well for years even though I have purchased a new Seville model that is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I find myself committed to making another attempt at disassembling the housing and finding the locations for the screws upon my discovery of a YouTube video featuring step-by-step instruction. In the meantime, I've remained optimistic the new Seville will suffice and that the old Seville can be repaired now that I have learned to appreciate the quality craftsmanship and engineering.

Probably the best fan I've ever owned
Just an fyi I've never received anything in return for writing this review. That said, I don't really review things much, but clearly I had to. SETUP: it was super easy. If you're competent at putting things together without a manual it's basically self explanatory. Just connect the fan to the base. And put in 4 normal screws and 4 screws that you twist by a hand. PERFORMANCE: The power that comes out off this thing is insane for its size. I would say from looks alone it can put out twice as much power as it looks like it can. I kid you not, both my girlfriend and I feel some sort of cooling effect from the fan as if there's a little bit of air conditioning coming out. Totally unexpected. Absolutely amazing 6/5 stars QUIETNESS: The reason I bought this fan is because I was searching online for a quiet fan and I wanted to try it out. There's no such thing as a 100% quiet fan, but it's the most silent house fan I've ever owned. I frequently keep my window open at night and I would say the ambient noises outside are usually louder. On its most quiet setting it probably generates about as much sound as the dull sound of a microwave while it's running. I'm super satisfied. OVERALL: I bought it to replace my Lasko max performance metal blade fan because it was so loud(but super powerful). In comparison this fan blows about 50% of the air,but concentrated over 75% of the same area. This fan also generates about 15% of the noise of the Lasko fan and the air comes out way cooler. If you throw in the fact that this fan also has a remote and the ability to oscillate it's just ask around amazing. I paid $70 for it, though after now owning it I would have paid at least $85 for sure.

10+ years and going strong!! UPDATED
10+ YEAR UPDATE All 4 of my fans are still going strong after 10+ years of almost daily, extended use! I lost the remotes again, so reordering... :)). These are the best fans ever, highly recommend! They've survived through various cross-country moves, kids/ pets knocking them over (which requires some effort), and tons of pet fur and dust getting lodged in the vents (easy to clean up, thankfully!). I am utterly impressed by the quality of these fans, which by now have paid for themselves a few times over. They're also very easy to operate, which I appreciate more and more as I experience newer models of electronics with unnecessarily complicated steps to operate. Ozeri has earned my loyalty and, based on the quality of these fans, I'd give any product of theirs a shot before any other brand. In fact, when these fans finally go, I'll be replacing them with the Bluetooth version of this fan, that way I won't have to keep ordering remotes :)). 8+ YEARS -- UPDATED REVIEW Perfect performance for at least 8 years now, just ordered another one for a friend. Highly recommend! I also lost the remote for one of the fans and I was able to order a new one for the cost of shipping and handling ($5) from Ozeri. Excellent customer service, and it arrived super fast. Wish all products and vendors were are good :)) ============== I've owned 3 of these fans for about 6 years now and they really are great. They've taken a tumble now and then and withstood with no problem. One took a hard fall and it's a little bit tilted now but it did not affect functioning at all. Not a single problem with any of them, which is a lot to say for electronics these days! The remotes work perfectly and one can control multiple units, which comes in handy when one of the remotes is misplaced. I do a lot of research before purchasing an item and even then sometimes it's a miss, but not with this fan. I am currently shopping for a tower heater (have spent at least 10 hours reading reviews and researching, no kidding) and this fan just happened to show up in the results. I had to stop and review it while I stare at one right in front of me :)), because I really appreciate the years of excellent service I've gotten from these fans, with many many more on the horizon. I think I will buy the Ozeri tower heater too, even though it's considerably more expensive than other units, only because I've had such a great experience with this fan. If you're tired of reading reviews, buying, being disappointed, returning, and then on to more research, go no further and buy this fan with confidence! If you read my reviews, I'm equally passionate and outspoken about the products I don't like as I am about the ones I do, and no one pays me for reviews either. I bought these fans when they were new on the market and at full price, so this discounted price is another plus. Wish I had more rooms to put a couple more in! Great job, Ozeri -- expecting the same experience with your tower heater, so the pressure is ON :)). Stay tuned for that review...

Seems to work well
After incessant review requests by Ozeri - here is my review. Previous to this I had an older Lasko tower fan, fairly similar to my new Ozeri 42" fan. In a nutshell it comes down to this - this fan blows harder on low than my Lasko did on high. It's definitely quieter as well. Both great pluses for me. What I don't like - the lid that is on top of the fan has a point on it that gets inserted down into a push button latch. Mine came broken with no way to fix it. I don't care enough to complain about it - if I push it just right it will stay closed. My other complaint vs the Lasko is that the base/foot is cheap. It feels cheap and it looks cheap - different from the upper part of the fan assembly. To make it perfect for me, I'd like it to be a bit better made and maybe even have some weight to it. The breeze feature is a gimmick and to me, just something that was added to be on a feature list. The fan blows on High, then low, then medium, then OFF, then medium, etc. Again, for me, it would be nicer if the fan actually had some sort of gradual speed up / slow down to more closely resemble a breeze. It's a feature in it's current state that I'll never use. Oscillation is smooth - no complaints here. Again, for me, something I won't use. If I want a fan, I want it to blow on me. The remote is nice - you can control everything from it. No complaints here. Overall - really, I give this a 5 star rating, even with my complaints. As a fan, it's powerful and quiet in a compact tower. That's what I needed, that's what I ordered and that's what I got. The rest of the gimmickry I could personally do without.

Excellent fan mechanism, but everything else is sub-par
I purchased this fan above all others on Amazon given its raving reviews. What I received was in no way worthy of 5 stars; 3.5, maybe 4 at best. The fan has both pros and cons, with the cons being negative enough to warrant my review and my rating. The pros: * The fan/blower mechanism is extremely quiet, even on the 3rd setting (high speed); I'd guess maybe 31-32dB. If you've used Vornado products, or generic box fans on high speed, you will be thrilled by the noise difference. You can easily use this fan in a bedroom while sleeping, especially a guest bedroom. * The fan, on high speed mode, blows air a pretty good distance (given how thin the unit is) -- a gust of air is detectable easily at the 10-12 foot mark, but past that it begins to dissipate. * The digital readout is quite visible (no more squinting at liquid crystal displays!), and the user interface (both layout and usability) are excellent. The readout might actually be a problem for some (when used in a dark room, given how bright the LEDs are). * Assembly is extremely easy (a Philips screwdriver is required), though the instructions are terse and leave you wondering what screws to use where. Certain screws/parts can only be used in certain ways, meaning there's no way you can assemble the unit incorrectly. The cons: * The circular base of the unit is made of extremely thin, malleable plastic -- it's unstable. It's affixed to the fan itself using four wing-nut screws. The base comes in two pieces and snaps together, with circular rods on one piece that go into holes in the other (in attempt to provide better stability). The base, when affixed to the main unit itself, tends to work acceptably well -- except for when it oscillates (keep reading). Just be aware it's made of thin plastic and has absolutely no weight to it. * The cylindrical height extension piece (visible in the Amazon photo) raises the unit by about 6-8 inches. It affixes to the main unit using four 1/4" screws, and the circular base then affixes to that using four wing-nut screws. The extension piece is also made of hollow, thin, cheap plastic. The end result is a fan that, when oscillating, tends to wobble -- the product I received wobbles to the point where I do not feel safe using the oscillation feature out of concern that the unit will fall over. I actually need to raise the fan up about a foot (the windows in my flat are quite high from the floor), but I don't risk doing this given the unit's instability. * In case it's not apparent (it wasn't to me prior to purchase), the fan IS NOT height-adjustable on-the-fly. * Another reviewer mentioned this problem too: the oscillation mechanism tends to "click" when moving back and forth. On mine, it clicks repetitively at certain points, causing the entire fan to jerk to get past whatever the issue is. Combine this issue with the aforementioned unstable stand, and you've got an oscillation feature that is basically worthless. From all the raving reviews, I would say most of the units do not have this problem, but it's brings into question how valid the "QA assurance" sticker is. * The remote control uses rubber buttons, while the enclosure of the remote control itself is hard plastic. The rubber is too soft; when you push down a button, about 3 out of 4 times the button will get stuck under the hard plastic lip/edge, forcing you to try and figure out how to pry them free. Solving this is as simple as using harder plastic, or taller buttons that can't be pushed down as far. * The AC cord snakes through the base of the unit and is held in place using plastic clips. My unit had plastic clips which had been stretched open, so the AC cord is never held in place; if I move the fan I'm forced to re-adjust the AC cord every time. A cheap metal hinge-clip would solve this issue completely. * Packing material, like another review stated, is a disgrace. The cardboard used is extremely thin (guaranteed to be recycled cardboard), and my product arrived with numerous large (3-4") holes in it, in addition to many pieces of the foam supports inside being broken in half. If you get a product that's borderline defective like mine, ask yourself just how you're going to go about re-packing the thing and shipping it back to Amazon? Overall summary/opinion: For a product that retails for almost US$100, I'm disappointed. Use of heavier-duty plastic would be a blessing, especially for the base and the height extension piece. The oscillation mechanism problem should have been caught during QA testing before this unit left the factory. These things really brought my opinion of the product down a few notches. Maybe the issue was tht I had such high hopes given the amazing reviews (compared to other products). But as stated, the fan/blower mechanism is quite good. If Ozeri redesigned the casing and the stand, but kept the digital readout and the fan/blower mech, they'd have a excellent, top-notch product. I will be keeping my Ozeri fan, using it as a stationary fan in my bedroom. But there's no way I can use this in my living room given the issues. I wish I had an alternate product to recommend, but sadly I don't. I'll be looking at the Vornado 184 Tower Circulator (model FA1-0024-06 on Amazon) for my living room -- I just hope I don't get a unit that has a misaligned rotor...

Great fan!
I received the fan today. Assembly was a breeze. The fan is really quiet on the lowest setting, and fairly quiet in the highest setting. It was very very hot today and we didn't need to switch on the air conditioning as this fan was great with cooling and it felt like it even lowered the room temperature a few degrees. And yes the fan displays the room temperature too, however, having temperature display in celsius instead of only in fahrenheit would be nice. The air throw is super great and circulates air effectively in a large room. It is a very good looking fan with sufficient height, and a very nice display. The remote is a great feature. Will update my review after a couple of months to comment on durability, however, at present it appears to be a good buy and i would recommend it to a friend. Edit after a few months: Very soon it starts to make a loud noise. Which goes from no sound to very loud to just a little annoying noise to very loud again and so on. It is still very good at cooling a large room, if only it didn't make this much noise. Edit after one year: When we started the fan when summers rolled in again. It had no noise for one whole day. Alas it has come back. Still good with air. Just too much noise. Edit next season: Noise is gone, don’t know where 😊. Last year inspite of the noise in the piece we had bought earlier, we went ahead and bought another one of the same fan, because the air throw is unmatched. Guess what, the new one never gave any noise, we thought may be we got a glitch piece in the last one, come this season, and even the other one doesn’t have any noise any more. Very very happy 😊.

Needs a step down voltage converter for India
I am from Mumbai, India the product is expensive and to add to it the normal step down ( required as its imported 110v vs the 210v )does not work and requires another higher watt step down which adds anywhere from 1500 to 3500 to the cost( I learnt it the hard way ) If u r ok with that then The product is super nice as it has a good throw and is really silent. This fan is tall and by no standards is a small one. The only negative is that it dosnt sit as well on its pillar, not that it wobbles during operation but dosnt feel secure.
