Let's have a talk about this unit.
#1. DO NOT become discouraged over the 1 star reviews. I did too and almost returned it.#2. This thing is awesome once it's up and running.#3. It IS NOT a plug and play as advertised in part of the description.#4. If possible, download the Cyberlink.com "PowerDVD" software. It's what I decided on because of great reviews all over the internet.#5. Great News! "PowerDVD" has a free trial that has no expiration date. It will play DVD & Blu-ray & burn both. You DO NOT have to buy PowerDVD If you only want to play or burn.#6. Bad news... The player will not play any format without the PowerDVD software. Not even a standard DVD.#7. I'm glad I didn't send it back to Amazon. I think the problem with other buyers is they think it's a plug n play & when it doesn't play they assume it's junk & send it back.

Blue ray disc must change the region out of 2.
So far so good. I’m turning all my disc into to digital. I have plenty of hard drive space. Thanks a bunch for this product. The DVD player is locked in region 2. You’ll need to change the region for it. My PC wouldn’t do it. But my MacBook Pro was able to change the region to region 1. And like magic it was good to go.❤️

Played about 5 minutes before quitting
I was really excited for this product, and I was incredibly let down. The outside design is sleek, but thats about all its got going for it.I plugged it in, popped in a dvd gently (which was fresh out of the box, not a scratch to be seen), and pressed play. For the first five minutes, everything was fine. The quality was a little shotty, but nothing I couldnt tolerate. Until around 5 minutes in, when the movie suddenly stopped and restarted. I tried everything i could to fix this- It wouldnt let me fast forward back to where I was, and it refused to progress beyond that 5 minute mark. At first I thought 'damn, the disc must just be bad'. However, after trying about 6 other dvds which were also in premium condition, I discovered a new problem- Upon ejecting the first dvd the first time, the dvd reader completely stopped working. It didn't matter what dvd I had inside, it refused to read it and was acting like I had never put a dvd inside it. Overall, I am thoroughly disappointed, and do hope to return this product. Don't buy this dvd player if you want to enjoy any further than 5 minutes in or with any better quality than 240p.

Does what is supposed to do.
Runs well out of the box. Tried it on linux and I managed to burn on both DVD-R Blue-ray discs.

Allows for old school media
I use this drive to read/write to blu-ray, DVD, and CD discs. Simple as that. Just as good as the old school mounted drives but portable. Also, the built-in USB hub helps with other media as well.

It was great.
Initially, this was a fantastic player. It is very simple, but it did exactly what it was supposed to. However, this was purchased to use on a laptop that has no connection to the Internet, because of an extremely rural location, and as of yesterday it would no longer play due to some issues between the (disabled) Internet security on the laptop, and the basic program required to get the player to function. When I can, I will bring it in to an area where it can connect to the Internet, and hope that is sufficient to take care of the issue, but for now this is essentially a useless brick.

The most important issue is that it works fine!!
The last two brands did not work with DVDs with capacities over (25 GB)s, and the USB C cable was right on time. It fits my new laptop.

Flashy Lights!
Wonderful! I have several hundred DVDs and blue ray discs. This allows their use with my Mac Airbook and my Windows laptop and a Chromebook.
