OMG these are beautiful. As I am planning my husbands celebration of life to be held in April I purchased the small batch order just to see what they were in design and quality. Way beyond expectation. I will be placing a much larger order within the next couple of months once I decide if I will be serving cupcakes or a sheet cake at which time I will know the total count needed. I will post a complete picture in April once all is made. Don’t let these pass you by if you have a loved one who adores hummingbirds as my husband did. You will not be disappointed.

These decorations are flat printed pansies, which look pretty nice on top of a relatively flat surface, or to nestle them into the hollow of a dollop of frosting. They start off quite stiff, but they get a bit soft in the fridge after a few hours, so I wouldn't stand them upright unless you place them just before serving. Because of the way the printing is done, it wouldn't be possible to just cut one to give the impression of separate petals, but it would be possible to cut some petals free off of a couple and then glue them on top of each other with edible glue. They are printed in nice detail on edible wafer paper that has a bit of gloss on the printed side. The paper relatively stiff, like card stock, and could snap if bent. Mine arrived in a plastic resealable bag, were easy to separate, and didn't have any damage to the printed surface. There were about 6 or 7 different designs, and I received several of each design. The edible wafer paper sort of resembles a communion wafer in texture and taste, so it won't add anything but it won't interfere with existing flavors either, and the printing inks didn't seem to have any flavor. I loved that they were both gluten-free and sugar-free, as those were constraints for the cake I was making.

Very pretty, worked great. We used them to decorate a cake border. They kept really well and the kids enjoyed eating them.

These look real and looked really good in the Terracotta pots. I tasted one and it tasted like paper. I wish it tasted better.

These hummingbirds look so nice! They're thin paper you can't taste on the cake with all the icing. I bought my sis a round cake & carefully placed the birds all over. As you can see in the photo it was a great idea especially near the fruit. Super happy I bought these & will most likely buy again! (If you're wondering... it's a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods. It's fruity & so yummy)

Not as expected

These made my daughter’s homemade birthday cupcakes extra special and fit her theme. They came fully intact and looked perfect with a good variety of comic onomatopoeia sayings. They didn’t really taste like anything, but all the kids (and adults) liked eating them. They kind of dissolved in your mouth. Not a single cup cake was left!
