It was important to me that it could be closedup. The cap that's pictured looks like it would keep the shaker sealed when not in use. It does, sort of, but won't for long. The cap is as flimsy a piece of plastic as it comes – like a very cheap packaging material – so thin it bends to the touch – totally throwaway quality. Not worth the trouble of returning the shaker; I'll just use it for the brief period the cap will provide service and then replace it.
