However, I felt that it was my duty this time around. You see, I am a once-frustrated homeowner whose bathrooms have those older ceramic toilet paper holders- the ones with the smaller spool holes that are permanently installed in ceramic wall tiles. When the original spool broke, I found that the only replacement spools available that would fit were either those cheap white plastic spools or their cheap fake “chrome” plastic spool counterparts. Thinking they looked less cheap, I opted for “chrome” not knowing that said “chrome” was actually a paint that would eventually wear off whenever the interior spring moved. So now not only cheap but uglier. As such, I was constantly replacing them for aesthetic reasons and always on the lookout for a metal chrome spool. Decades later (I’m not kidding), my searching days are over. Once again, I dug deep on desertcart but, this time, finally found these stainless spools. And, although they are not as nice as the rest of the chrome hardware in my bathrooms, they are so much nicer than those cheap plastic spools. Also, since the springs are at the end of these spools and not in the middle like the plastic spools, the toilet paper rolls off the spool more smoothly and doesn’t wobble. And, most importantly, they fit!
