I was sceptical at first, but after I placed this bad boy in the water, I was nearly convinced that it had achieved sentience with how life like the swimming motion was. I also was filled with primal fear as the DNA of my ancestors sent a surge of violent warning through my brain stem in the form of fight or flight. Witnessing the dog mermaid hybrid creature swim the ocean waters once more brought an instinctual need to hunt once more. It was as though all previous generations that resulted my birth were screaming inside of me to finish what they started, and end the merpup bloodline. Alas, it was only a toy and I was able to rest easy once I returned from my temporal flashback. Works as described and worth the money.

Kids love it. Doesn't move too fast in the water, but for less than $10, it works just fine.

Giving it 3 stars only because the Skye Mermaid is a cute member of my son’s Paw Patrol collection otherwise she would get a 1. Skye doesn’t flap her mermaid tail at all in our pool, she only floats which is ok, but the boys were more excited to turn her swimkey and watch her swim across the pool. This was not the case and as a result they no longer play with her as much anymore when they have her in the pool. Skye is a nice size. She’s a cute (non-functional) addition to their PP collection. That’s all. Same with the Chase Police Patroal Boat.

So cute and nice size but doesn’t work in water very well. She floats but when wind up only lasts few seconds. Kept anyway

Great merpup toy

I knew my little girl would LOVE this for her birthday, but I noticed all the reviews that said the toy was too top heavy to swim, so I became hesitant. I decided to show my daughter a few options and this is still the toy she wanted most for her birthday present (even after I explained it couldn't swim). So I bought it and when she opened it on her birthday, to our delight, discovered that it totally swims fine! The body is submerged while the head bobs above water as it "swims" around for about 10 seconds after each wind up. This toy is a must have for my 5 year old now whenever she takes a bath or goes to the pool :)

Crap, hardly functional. Probably shouldn’t even used the word functional. Ha!
