Goswot Left/Right Interchangeable 12BB Ball Bearing Saltwater/Freshwater Fishing Spinning Reel 500-9000 Series Light and Smooth

I have bought 6 or 8 of these reels. I started buying several low price brands about 6 years ago and this brand ended up being the best. There was another brand that was equally as good but when I started fishing salt water the other started corroding. This line of reels has proven to be quite effective.

Goswot Left/right Interchangeable 12BB Ball Bearing Saltwater/ Freshwater Fishing Spinning ReelThis reel, out of the box, is very smooth and has the feel of other well made Chinese spinning reels. I can't say it will last forever and it may succumb to the rigors of salt spray, as almost all reels do in time, but it should provide some use for the local fishing holes. This is an EF2000 I purchased at $14.99 and free Prime delivery. It looks good and the first thing I did was lube all easily accessable openings to bearings to give it a good start. It casts well off the spool and the retrieve is moderately fast. On a lite rod, it will suit the casual fisherman, just don't abuse it by soaking it in salt water and then not rinse it off after the trip. Be smart with your equipment to help it last a little longer.

Purchased July 2021 worked great up until a out a month ago. Now gears are grinding when reeling in.

Don't kid yourself this thing isn't a Shimano. But for the price you can't beat it with a stick as long as you're not trying to overwork it for its size it's great. First I ordered the small one I just got through ordering a 7000 size if this price you can have one for every size fishing range you go through so there's no need to try to beat the hell out of a real trying to make it do too much

Just received my reel. What a pretty silver and gold reel! Feels super-smooth, has a strong bail spring system. Very solid snap on the retrieve.But there is a BIG drawback for my kind of fishing. This reel does not have infinite anti-reverse. Meaning that when you stop the reel to jig or set the hook, it makes a "clack" sound. If bait fishing, this isn't a big deal, but I'm a jig fisherman, so this reel is going to "clack" a lot. Even so, for $12, this reel is an incredible value. so I'll just gift it instead of returning it.

This little reel right here is DURABLE. I feel down about a 4 foot bank with this reel in my hand and it landed under me and was perfectly fine! I wouldn't be impressed BUT I'm 350+ and I mean I feel hard on this reel people and it was fine. I would recommend for anyone kid's, adult's, clumsy people like me. This is a good reel i was super surprised how good it really is for the price.

Seems to be a pretty great reel for the price. Just got this in the other night and loaded it with 20lb test mono line. Threw a couple practice casts in the yard and it has been great so far. Silky smooth and easy to operate. Has quite a range of draw weight you can select. I bought a cheap roddy hunter rod and reel combo on amazon a year or so ago, and this reel was a great way to revitalize my backup surf pole (got the 6000 series). I can't give 5 stars until I get a fish on the other end of it, but I will try to update my review at that point.

After coming across a website mentioning this reel, I decided for 15 bucks to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the reel is for the price! It looks good and works great. With 12 pound Trilene XL, it casts a long distance and retrieves very smoothly. The wooden handle is a nice touch and works well. Another neat feature is the button on the handle. It allows the handle to be folded for easy storage. I didn’t expect much for a $15 Chinese product, but I am very happy with my purchase. I put the reel on a $13 rod, and the combo works as well as some of my other rigs costing many times as much.
