Salomon Men’s Speedcross Trail Running Shoes

These are 5-star hiking shoes for me. They’re light, comfortable, and incredibly easy to put on. The quick-lace system is a huge plus. Not having to stop and lace up makes a real difference, and I honestly do not think I’ll go back to heavier lace-up shoes again. They also feel firm and supportive, especially on dirt trails and rougher terrain. Great traction, secure fit, and very comfortable right out of the box. Highly recommend.

Ok, so this was a fairly quick purchase, was looking at the next lower level of these hiking shoes but realized they would arrive too late for my trip to Mt. Rainier for Labor Day weekend. Arrival time was as promised, and package was in tact. Always a good start. I received them on a Thursday,(we were headed out to Mt. Rainier on Friday) I picked them up as soon as I saw they had been delivered. I took them back to work, only a few minutes away. I put them on and was delighted they felt like butter! I was initially skeptical of the speed laces which proved to be unfounded over the next few days. Walking around the office and even through the parking lot at work I could tell how grippy they were going to be. First hike was a short walk around Paradise to Myrtle falls upon arrival at Mt Rainier. My feet felt well supported even with a large amount of the trail paved. Day two, we hiked the Skyline trail, which had more dynamic terrain where I became a fan of the speed laces, adjusting to better fit my foot. Day three we hiked the lower lake (Reflection Lake trail) each day I was impressed that I had no blistering no foot fatigue right out of the box, and it was a comfortable shoe to slip on. I felt really confident in the tread. I haven’t had a chance to get them in real weather yet but will soon as the Pacific Northwest promises each year. Over all very satisfied would buy them again! This is my 5th pair of Salomon Speedcross trail runners. I usually buy a pair a year and wear them practically every day for everything. Note that I do NOT use these for trail or road running as I'm not a runner, so this review is for people who use these as regular sneakers. (That doesn't mean they're not excellent for trail running--I just wouldn't know what to compare them to.) They're incredibly comfortable. The sole is really grippy. It has a fast drawstring lace system that works flawlessly. It also has a laces "garage" at the top of the tongue which sounds like a gimmick but is dead useful. They're very good looking shoes that you can wear pretty much anywhere informal. They're pretty durable; as I said I wear mine almost every day. And I like the gray color which is subtle and goes with everything. PLEASE NOTE: My review is for a pair of shoes that are only labeled "Speedcross." I am assuming they are genuine but the Speedcross series is numbered. For example, the ones I bought replaced a pair of Speedcross 5's. (I didn't buy the most recent Speedcross 6's because the new graphics are hideous.) I'm a little suspicious because these shoes were low-priced and do not have a number. However, they seem to be the real thing (perhaps a version for an overseas market?) and feel just like the ones I replaced. I hope these continue to be available because the newest version 6 is truly ugly and I can only imagine what the 7 series will look like.

I've been using a version of this shoe since the Speedcross 3 back in 2015. Overall quality has been great and the fit/support/performance is excellent. And they look great. I just bought my 5th pair. About me: Size 13; 6' tall; 295 lbs (think ex-linebacker build - I could lose some weight but pretty solid) How I typically use them: fast moving hikes; 5 to 7 miles; 1 to 3 times per week; mixed gravel, dirt/muck, roots, rocks, plenty of slippery leaves The Speedcross are very (VERY) grippy, which is nice considering the terrain I'm often on. I find the support is decent. Comfort level is very good but I will say on the rare occasions where I'm getting over 8 or 9 miles, I will start to feel it. That could be a factor of my weight as much as the shoe. Absolutely no comfort issues up to that point though. The lacing system is easy to figure out and works really well. I did break a lace on a pair a few years ago and was able to buy a replacement for it which lasted until the shoes wore out. No problem The caveat? My experience is the soles wear out pretty quickly - especially on the SC6. And especially if you use on sand and/or pavement much - which I've learned to try to avoid. I think this is a direct effect of the grippiness of the soles which, again, is excellent. I've gone back to the SC5 this time (price) but both versions have this issue. Still.... recommended.

Very comfortable from day one

exact color that is shown online. The fit is stupid comfortable and the size is accurate. I am a 12 in every shoe except one that I wear and the 12 Salomon is perfect.

I've had these in my cart for months because I couldn't justify spending this much on sneakers (I use for work). But I bit the bullet and I'm so happy I did. Running, standing and sitting in these are amazing. Absolutely no complaints. I've run on different terrains and it always feels like I'm running on a cloud.

Solita ottima qualità Salomon! È il 4° paio di scarpe Salomon Speedcross che compro e ne sono sempre soddisfatto. L'unico difetto che posso ravvisare è la rapidità di consumo della gomma dei tacchetti sulla suola, ma va tenuto presente che non sono pensate per essere usate sull'asfalto o altra pavimentazione simile (che la consumano rapidamente), bensì nello sterrato e sull'erba in condizioni di outdoor: se usate così durano molto di più. In ogni caso sono sempre comodissime, avvolgenti, velocissime da infilare e allacciare.
