Stable, nice GPS and rtc, great for mesh!
I have spent countless hours working with these in building mesh firmware for T-Deck, T-Beam supreme, and other devices. These T-Beam supremes are my go-to for mobile nodes, tracker nodes, and base stations. For my home base station, I have one of these combined with a 48" signal plus antenna and a 1 watt amp from sunhaus. Wow...is all I can say. My T-Deck plus, with internal antenna, can get a signal from 6 miles away to the T-Beam with this setup. L76k and ublox are both good. Supposedly I think ublox uses a little less power, but I'm getting >24 hour battery life with a cheap rechargeable using either. I leave mine plugged in or on solar constantly though. The real-time clock is something that's missing from most similar devices, and it's quite important for security purposes, and not being dependent on GPS for time. This has an SD card reader, which is required for my firmware (storing encrypted packets, public keys, etc). I'm not sure how other mesh systems get by with just flash, id expect wear leveling, but I use the SD extensively. The LoRa radio works flawlessly, as does the WiFi. I don't use BLE for my system, so I can't speak to that My base station has been running for months. I don't know how well other systems work with it, but it is really a fantastic fit for ChatterBox. Highly recommend!

Favorite LoRa Device
This is my workhorse. I use it to host my local mesh bot and it has impressive range, even from indoors.

A step up from more budget-concious boards, but worth it
Excellent, premium meshtastic experience. Came preloaded with an old meshtastic firmware (2.3 I think) but flashing it to a new one worked perfectly. The GNSS for GPS worked immediately for me, it didn't take a while to find satellites like other brands I've used. Buy a nice li-on 18650 from a reputable site to use with it. Great device all-around.

The node you tell the other nodes not to worry about
Great for when you really want someone to ask you about your node. Put a real antenna on it for when you inevitably have to put it on the table because who puts this thing in their pocket??? Battery is fine. Screen is clear, bright and legible. I put it in the AlleyChat case and it's my portable base.

Works Fine With Meshtastic and the GPS is a Great Addition
I have several Meshtastic devices from several different manufacturers. This unit is easy to configure and having the GPS built in makes it easier to configure that other units that have add-on GPS modules if you want that capability. Maybe it is just me but the Lilygo devices seem to be more stable and easier to flash than some of the Heltec devices that I have. I also like having the SMA antenna connector, that makes it easier to use other antennas. Overall, nice unit that I do recommend to others.

Disappointed
Bunch of issues with this board, could have bought two or three Heltec V3โs for this price. Disappointed.

Good Meshtastic Node
Solid Meshtastic radio. It has its quirks, but for what you're paying, you'll get one of the best for the money. Setup and configuration is what should be expected for any LORA Meshtastic radio; ease of use is better in recent firmwares.
