Upgrading to the MSI MPG 491CQP has completely transformed my gaming and productivity setup. The QD-OLED panel is simply breathtaking. The colors are incredibly vibrant and pop off the screen, and the black levels are truly infinite, creating a level of contrast and depth that's just jaw-dropping. The 49-inch super ultrawide display wraps around your field of view, making games feel incredibly immersive. For work, the screen real estate is a game-changer. Gameplay is exceptionally smooth and responsive, thanks to the high refresh rate and near-instantaneous response time. It's a serious investment, but if you're looking for the absolute best in class for an immersive gaming and media experience, this monitor is it. An easy five stars.

I bought this after my Samsung Odyssey G9 went out after 1 year and 7 days (7 days after the warranty expired after they dropped it to a one year warranty). I wish I would have made this purchase from the start because this monitor FAR surpasses the Samsung's quality. My only gripe come with a caveat: it has to turn off for several minutes per day and goes through a forced refresh (I've heard this was extended to 2 days through an update though). The caveat is that this monitor is warranties again burn-in too. I use this two-fold for gaming and for video/photo editing so access to 98% Adobe and 99% DCI color spectrum is IMMENSELY helpful and its a breeze to swap back and forth between it and sRGB. Its color reproduction is very accurate also! I know that wont matter for most, but regardless of why you're using it, this monitor is fantastic!!

Coming from a dual screen side by side screen with a TV monitor above setup this is a major upgrade, being a 31x9 aspect ratio monitor it is like having 2 monitors side by side without a split but you gain more than that. By losing the split between the 2 Monitors this is wide enough to put 3 sets of browser windows across and have them plenty big enough to use. Picture wise this blows my old monitors out of the water, some reviews say they see issue with text quality as I type this on a white background I cannot see any the "issue" they were complaining about as this is as sharp of a picture I have ever had on any monitor, and the colors are also crazy good. I do use this in a dark room so glare is not an issue, only had it a few days so far but I am already trying to figure out how to get one for work. The stand is stable and the adjustments of height swivel and tilt are great. The MSI software so far looks to work well to control the monitor, it is a little slow, but is so much easier than trying to use the built in menus on the monitor itself (but even that is not bad compared to many other monitor I have used over the years). Gaming wise you can't go wrong with this other than it will take a powerful card to play AAA titles at full res.

I loved this monitor. And then I hated it. It's beautiful, colors and contrast are amazing, the size is amazing, the fact that the same display port/cable can be used for display and charging, awesome. The multiple monitor/split setup, really cool. And then came "Panel Protect." A feature that forcibly runs maintenance on your monitor, without any ability to postpone, right in the middle of you using it - for roughly 10 minutes, during which time you can't use the monitor. In the middle of an intense game? Too bad. Important meeting? Sucks to be you. With the number of meetings I've been in where the monitor shuts down at the most inopportune time, I'd send this thing back in a heartbeat if still in the return period. I get it. OLED needs maintenance. MSI is trying to help you protect your monitor. But their implementation of this feature is atrocious. Believe me, I've tried every possible setting on this to get it to do it when I'm NOT using the monitor. Run your stupid Panel Protect every single day at 2am for all I care, I'll leave it on for you! Or let me postpone it at least for a few hours when I can run it when it's convenient. Nope. You get "Auto" or "Every 16 hours." And as much as it seems like "Auto" would be intelligent enough to say, "Looks like the user has stepped away for a bit, the monitor's gone into standby mode, maybe now I'll run my 10 minute panel protect process" it doesn't do that. It seems that "auto" means, I'll detect when you are actively using this and shove the panel protect warning in your face for 10 seconds then start my 10 minute maintenance process. The other issue I keep seeing that the "auto" setting resets back to "Every 16 hours" at random. And every 16 hours is just that. Doesn't matter what you are doing. At 16 hours since last run, it's going to run. It's a nightmare. I can't remember the last time I've had as much loathing for a piece of technology. I see the positive reviews here and assume there's just something I'm missing. And I've scoured the Internet for solutions but have only found angry people like me ranting about this monitor, with proposed solutions from the community that don't seem to work. After having this go into its maintenance schedule for the umpteenth time during an important meeting, I'm done with this thing. The problem is, I can't in good conscience even sell this to someone. I would hate to inflict that punishment on a fellow human being.

Bought for $900 on black friday. I wish I had bought the 240hz version, but honestly the 144hz is fine considering the fact that most games can't even run high fps on this nearly 4k monitor (at least in terms of pixel count). At first I really didn't understand the hype around oled color contrast and 1440p. However, that all changed once in toggled on the true black hdr 400. The outstanding hdr in combination with the 1ms response time of the oled pannel, and I honestly have a hard time going back to my 16:9 240hz 1080p va pannel. I have a very powerful rig that can push this monitor very outstandingly at max settings (rtx 4080 super, i9 14900kf, 32gb ddr5); however, I'm not too sure how well you will be able to push this monitor with anything less (unless you don't care about heavy upscaling and not having max settings). Anywho, I would totally recommend this monitor for enthusiasts, and if you don't have a top of the line rig, I'd definitely recommend the normal ultrawide oled or even just the normal 1440p oled. I've had this monitor for roughly 3 months; and, while at first, I somewhat regretted my purchase, I eventually came around to loving the thing and I now understand the oled masterrace! ✊️😤🫡

I'd give it 5 stars but for one aspect, it has these cyclical anti-burn-in shutdowns every 4 hours. The monitor will first prompt you that it intends to turn off for 5 mins, and you can defer it a few times, but eventually you have to wait. It is always inconvenient and potentially devastating, particularly during gaming or trading, so don't count on this monitor to always be there when you need it most. Also, I have top of the line 8K HDMI cable and still get rare dropouts, but it resyncs quickly. Not sure if this is also part of their OLED preservation algorithm. The whole strategy just seems poorly executed and thoughtless. Other than this, by far the best visual experience monitor I've ever had. Black is black, and the colors are dreamy. This is truly an enormous screen. EDIT: new computer, no longer suffering intermittent dropouts. I'll take the L on that one. Also, the anti-burn-in cycle prompts seem to be farther apart by many more hours, and I should have mentioned you can defer the first attempt by canceling the popup using their joystick on the back of the monitor at the bottom, but that's a non-trivial task that will force you to stop whatever you're doing momentarily. About 1.5 years in now, picture is still as good as day 1, no issues

When shopping for a 49in oled, the features that this monitor offers is hard to beat. High refresh rate, low response time, great connectivity, KVM, power over usb-c, a similar if not same panel as many other very popular and successful brands AND a 3 year burn-in warranty. The KVM, power over usb-c and warranty were what really did it for me. I don't need 240Hz personally, so this monitor was the obvious choice. The packaging was great and the setup was easy. The picture is wonderful! I highly recommend watching TFTCentral's best setting guide, as they are a trusted source for monitor info. If you are a developer, racing gamer or person that just enjoys a great looking monitor, you won't regret this one.

I absolutely love my 491cqp. After weeks of reasearch i concluded that msi was the best choice for an ultra wide. I mane lude it for productivity but also use it for gaming. Super immersive and I thought it night be an adjustment for gaming but it was the opposite. It has enchanced my gaming time. I the curveture is also perfect for my liking. Not too curvy. The display is absolutely gorgeous, don’t think I could ever go bsck to ISP or VA Monitors.

Pretty sick monitor, pretty pricey tho

Sure it's an okay panel, the same one Samsung uses - but the software/firmware is NOT GOOD, it has a lot of quirks. Also if you're planning to use the KVM features for two PCs, or a PC and a console - DON'T BOTHER. It is not possible to KVM between two gaming computers (or a gaming computer and a Playstation), because it ONLY allows you to use USB-C for video on the 2nd device (a laptop). It's not a proper KVM for two devices that use HDMI or DisplayPort. It is absolutely infuriating that I now have to buy a proper KVM because of some horrible software choices they've made.
