Good, not great, but we will keep it
This OMEO cooktop looks and feels well built and at 1800-Watts it performs fine. When using the "Temperature" option it holds the set temper perfectly within 1-degree-F. This is our first foray with induction heating and we love the concept. But, I now know there are critical questions to be asked before a purchase. Most importantly for us, what are the "steps" for temperature settings? This cooktop has has very large steps for each temperature setting. There only 10-steps and I thought that would be OK as we wanted this for slow cooking. But the "steps" are huge as it goes from 160-F to 240-F in a single step so a Simmer is really not possible. The next issue is whether it saves the last settings for next time. Since we will be only using it for slow cooking, having to set the temperature each time is a bit of a pain. Finally, it needs a "Start/Stop" button. This one starts as soon as you press the "Menu" button and you cannot preset the temperature or Watts before pressing "Menu." It always starts up at 1200-Watts and you have to race to get it back to where you want it. I think a "Start" button is mandatory and "Pause" button would be good. If you want to lift the pan and shake stuff it very quickly goes to an error code, "no pan" and if you take too long to get it back on the top, it shuts off.I like the way the it heats up water really fast so instead of returning it, I will move it to the garage for making tea etc.I have ordered a Nuwave cooktop with 51-steps in 10-F increments in temperature. And, it appears to have a Program mode allowing me to define and save multiple steps like 5-minutes at maximum to boil, then 40-minutes at 210 to Simmer. It is only 1500-Watts compared to OMEO 1800 Watts and it costs more, but for the extra bucks, it will provide the functions we need.Other than the above personal preference issues, the OMEO is a good cooktop.

1 liter water boils in 3.1 minutes
Works Great Will Boil 1 liter of water in 3.1 minutes= 186 seconds.Witch is the time value needed to boil it.raising the Temp from 20 degrees C to 100 degrees C or a rise of 80 degrees C.The energy needed to heat the 1 liter or 1Kg of water is 4182 J/Kg * 1Kg * 80 Degrees C=334560 Joules. If the cook top is 100% efficient.1 joule second = 1 watt or 334560 watts to boil the water at sea level. The cook top an supply 1800 watts at full on boil.So if the cook top delivers 1800 watts/sec. and the time is 3.1 minutes the energy is 334800 wattsSo the Cook-Top efficiency is 334560/334800=99.99 %Really Good, So I am not at sea Level, I am at 4500FT. so maybe it is GreatSo maybe it is Great. I didn't measure the actual power used, which would be interesting.

Meh! It's okay
This burner is disappointing, but not in a catastrophic way. It is just average in so many ways:1) it is bulky (bulkier than other comparably priced models)2) it is noisy to operate (loud fan, I guess)3) the touch controls are not easy to operate4) the control methodology is not intuitive.Everything else is acceptable, so far (of course we have only had it for a month of intermittent use).

I love my induction cooktop!
This is my first induction cooktop. I have to say I am very impressed. I never had any type of appliance that could heat this quickly and evenly. It is sleek and beautiful. I would recommend an induction burner for anyone who loves to cook and cooks often. I timed heating 2 quarts of water to boil and it boiled in just under 4 minutes. This appliance does require induction cookware. Only cookware that has a bottom that attracts a magnet will operate this burner. I actually love cooking on induction cookware because of the even heating so this is a plus. This also has a warming button which keeps food warm after cooking without worrying about burning. It is super easy to operate with minimal controls. Very portable and highly recommended.
